Keep making plans? Like what? Go to the movies by myself? Dinner by myself? I don't have that many friends here to be honest. All of them have bf/gf's or work weird hours.

 

Nothing wrong with going to a matinee by yourself. Movies are overrated as a social experience. I mean, you are sitting there silent for two hours. You don't need to have someone else there.

 

But go to a bar occasionally and chat people up. Go on the internet (craigslist, whatever) and look for different social clubs that fit with your hobbies. Pick up a sport. Start a creative project of some sort. You obviously like to write -- why not start writing a screenplay or a novel or something (and about something else besides your ex). Hell, when I broke up with my ex I knew absolutely no one where I live. I had one friend who was a half-hour away but everyone else was at least an hour-plus, if not in a different state. But I went out, explored the area, meet people and now I'm not sure if I even have time for my ex if that whole thing was restarted.

 

But yeah, you need to make yourself active. You need to force yourself out of the funk. It ain't going to just happen, especially when you start dwelling. Your writing on your ex is very good, but some diversity in subject matter would do you a lot of good.
