westjames111 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I have slowly been moving on, but even months after my ex left I still have the feeling that I will never find someone as compatible for me as she was. We were from the same hometown, she got a long great with my family, we had the same music interest, we had the same idea of a perfect date, the intimacy was great, etc, etc. These are just thoughts running through my head today. It probably has something to do with her being was my first love, so i don't really have much experience with others. I think if I had dated more people I would see that there are others that are just as much or MORE compatible. Anyway those are just thoughts eating at me today.

He wasn't my first love, but he was the first man to have a serious long term relationship with that was healthy. We ended it as a mutual decision (due to timing, not anything else). I guess I'm just trying to say that you're not feeling anything out of the ordinary. We all romanticise our exes, and we all find it hard to move on.
