HoneyBadgerDontCare Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 So this is a weird situation. So let me start with this: Yes, I have a girlfriend and no, I'm not looking. With that said, I still know an attractive girl when I see one. My girlfriend was having a "girl's night" last night so I went out with my guy friends. Most of them are still single so when we go out, I usually try to help them out. This usually results in me taking over the friend and having to hold myself back if she's attractive. Well, last night, as usual, my best friend met a very attractive girl and they spent the night together. I was hanging out with her friend. The friend is pretty, fun, smart, and single, but she gave off a weird vibe. I looked at her as a little sister type and was even remotely attracted to her (despite the fact that she's really pretty). Anyway, I tried hooking her up with 3 other guys throughout the night and they all said the same the thing to me. This is a first for me. I've never met a girl as pretty as her with all of that other stuff going on that didn't have guys relentless pursuing her. This girl had multiple guys friendzone her in one night. So what gives? Are there many women out there like this? What are your thoughts about why multiple guys felt this way towards her? Very interesting case study, imo.
Feelin Frisky Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 If you got a "weird vibe", they probably got a "weird vibe". And maybe it got around that that pretty one over there is "weird". Sounds pretty routine. PS: you don't want to be weird.
Author HoneyBadgerDontCare Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 She's probably too hot? I used to live in the same house as this very hot women who used to be a model. Her boyfriend owned the house and lived in the basement. I was renting a room down there because the rent was amazingly cheap. My other room mate and I had no attraction towards her. That's because we knew her I think although she wasn't single she would go clubbing with a male friend and guys would follow her. This woman would yell at her daughter for no reason and she was wacky. She used to be a model in NYC so she is the cream of the crop. However I would never date her or anyone like her. it's not about only looks people mistaken that hot women should get a lot of guys hitting on her but that's not the case. Thanks for the reply. No, it wasn't that. She wasn't intimidating. She's more of a girl-next-door kind of pretty. I've dated WAY hotter girls than her. My friend that I introduced her too also dates a lot of hot girls. She also doesn't come off as crazy (I've dated a lot of those....so I can spot them from a distance usually lol). She was actually really sweet.

We moved around a lot and it was basically guys from different venues that didn't know each other that said this. Out of curiosity, I asked all of the guys why they weren't interested. Each of them said she feels like a "little sister" or "best friend". So I guess "weird" wasn't the right word. My apologies.
Divasu Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Sounds pretty normal... For instance, Bradley Cooper is admired by many women. I don't find him 'hot' at all. Attraction is mysterious and people are attracted to different things. 2
ThaWholigan Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 This is pretty common in my observations - have known quite a few very beautiful girls on an aesthetic and physical level that do not inspire much sexual attraction from men. It is one of those things that struck me as odd, but I started to understand it as I got to know more people and kept seeing it happen. The energy that resonates in some people is different and varies from person to person - and when it comes to attraction, girls are the same. It really depends on their demographic and who they attract, which is why it amuses me when I hear people say "all a girl has to do is go out and they get attention from men" . I think it may trouble the girls themselves, because they may think to themselves that they are missing out on some level, but I think it's more to do with the fact that some men are either too overawed by their beauty or simply that the girl has not met more men that resonate on her wave. If any of that makes sense . Have seen some very pretty girls that I didn't see myself pursuing - and likewise, I have seen some girls who may not be close to the "universal ideal" but had all of that going on . 2
RedRobin Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 My guess is that most of these guys aren't looking for anything serious and so only go after girls they think will be DTF ASAP. Girls who give off the girl next door look, or they feel is more like a little sister aren't ones they can see taking that night or that week. That is about the attention span most people in this age group have, it seems. If I were her, I'd be flattered, not insulted... she can let the other girls be treated like their toilet paper... not her. Of course, at first she'll be confused and bummed by it... Hopefully she sees it as the blessing in disguise that it is. 6

Though pretty was she feminine? There are some mannerisms that sort of neutralize male interest. And they can seem subtle or imperceptible to some and immediately off-putting to others. I myself am instantly neutralized by a woman who is a jock. I even had one that worked in the same building with me who after we'd say "good morning" or w/e when passing, she would go out of her way to ask me how's it going. I was attracted to her big time. But you could tell she was that kind who gravitated toward the traditional jock element in school and either played team sports or started a league. She was damn near throwing herself at me but the air of un-femininity just told me "friend" or "sister". No doubt she could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch but I just passed. Actually if I could go back in time, I think I would go for her. She had pluck. But her thirst for acceptance among the boys just neutralized any interest in her at the time.

Saying that, I have seen the opposite - girls who are very much DTF but don't get as much play as their appearance would suggest. I do feel for them admittedly. 1
candie13 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 beauty and looks have nothing to do with sex vibes . 3
hppr Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I know a girl like that she just doesn't act sexy or flirtatious towards guys so they always think she's out looking for friends or a 'little sister' that needs to be protected or something. She needs to learn how to inspire those feelings in the men she talks to. It's like a guy who doesn't know how to flirt with girls, yeah dressing well/lifting weights/haircut is part of it but what you say, how you say it, physical contact makes a huge difference too. 1
hppr Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 But her thirst for acceptance among the boys just neutralized any interest in her at the time. I know the feeling. If I wanted to date a macho guy I'd date a macho guy.
jeni4566 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Does she flirt enough? Sometimes a girl needs to inspire a guys imagination to think her in bed. A guy I used to date said Scarlett johansson is sexy, but Gwen Paltrow feels like his aunt 1
tbf Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Social cues are HUGE! So much of communication isn't the words you use. It's how you say it and nonverbal cues. 2

There is a happy medium in there somewhere. I always tried to avoid the ones I thought were overly promiscuous. 2

A guy I used to date said Scarlett johansson is sexy, but Gwen Paltrow feels like his aunt Because Scarlett looks like she'd be easy and Gwyneth hard to get. 1

But I was just thinking "awww I hope she finds a nice guy!" lol

Thats is, never getting sex.... Yeah, but it's different with men and women. Women like the bad boy types that get their panties wet. That's no secret. Men like pretty girls though. I've never seen a pretty girl get these kinds of responses (including from myself). So that's why it's an interesting mystery to me.
Divasu Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 So that's why it's an interesting mystery to me. Could it be, that you have a girlfriend and you're falling in lurveee? So this is a weird situation. So let me start with this: Yes, I have a girlfriend and no, I'm not looking. 2
Feelin Frisky Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 She did say she played sports. But she was dressed kind of sexy and was really fun. You might be right though, come to think of it. When I was talking to her, I felt like I was with one of the guys. She didn't seem to have that feminine energy. This girl I was talking about, one time she bar-hopped with us after a Christmas party and maybe because she was feeling no pain she started showing off her sexuality--making faces and goo goo eyes or w/e that made me take total notice. I don't know who she was doing that toward but I think she knew she had my complete attention. It was as if the tom boy just turned into the most seductive bit of gash you'd ever laid eyes on. I thought very differently about her after that but she returned to her eager beaver--atta-boy hairy-hair-shirt self the next day.
