Locust Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 I met a girl online and she is located Europe and just yesterday we chatted on Skype (with webcam), and she speak English pretty good. After seeing her in the cam for a while I said to myself in my mind this girl looks pretty young, too young. She then told me she was almost 17 years old and I'm in my mid 20's. So I told her we got a big age gap and I said this is not right. I told her your too young and you need to experience life and be with a guy more of your age at least. I say beside your illegal for me as well because not allow to be with a person below age of 18. She said the law in her area guys can be with girls 15 years old, and I said no way. So I looked it up and she was right, okay US law is different with that, but still feel awkward. She said her friend is 18 with a 31 year old guy. I said I cannot do it, I just can't it does not feel right, I said he is different than me. After couple of weeks writing to each other in email I guess there was connection, but after hearing the age, whole game change. She says how its wrong, I said its hard to explain. I said your law allows it but not me. This girl want me to visit her one day, and I'm like no. Am I over reacting or I'm doing what is right?

In my country, under some circumstances ... like having sex with a minor (as defined by Australian law) it will ... and if you're busted you'll do jail time at home ... so I personally couldn't go there. But in any event, whats wrong with having a lovely young friend overseas? Why not spend time developing the relationship ... at worst you'll gain a nice friend ... and she might even have older friends who are interesting to you. In any event, she's almost 17 and within 12 months will be touching 18 ... how quickly are you likely to get over there to visit her anyway? If such a trip is likely to be a year away, well, you're almost home and hosed. Oh - and on the age gap thing. Geez mate. 8 years difference ... worst case. I know it seems important when you are so young yourself. I'm mid forties, and 8 years is nothing. I go out with women 10-15 or even 20 years younger than me. Stay within the confines of your local legal reality, of course, but otherwise, have fun - life is too short.

Wow!!10-15 or 20 years difference whoa, that is a big difference. I was reading online that younger girls like going after older guys. That is true, I won't be going to Europe anytime soon. She wants to visit the US one day, but she said she doesn't want to live here though. That mean I would need to move over there. It's just the age and difference between adult and teenager.

It's a habit but then I like European girls, Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, Denmark, UK, German and much more. I know they are some in the US but they are hard to here find because they mostly along the east coast than the west coast.

They are easy to find in both places.

In my state the AoC is lower. I don't know how that exactly would work. But I can say that this young girl has lot of interest in me. I believe more of a puppy interest and not of what we think. I' am trying to convince her to be with someone else but not working so far. I didn't think girls at her age would be interested finding love or seeking any form of relationship. As for me I feel she too young and won't understand where I'm coming from like a 30 year old woman would. I'm 26 years old and me this girl 9.5 years difference, I know people have years difference of this or more, but then this is different. I couldn't touch someone that young.

In most countries the rule is that when we are talking about a serious crime, the law does follow you. e.g.: a Belgian kills another Belgian in the USA. Both the USA and Belgium will have the power to prosecute as Belgian law stipulates that, in this case, Belgian law applies as well.

Some countries and Australia where I live is one, have laws that encompass nationals and allow prosecution for 'crimes' carried out in other countries even when the law in said other country is being adhered to. Several countries have specifically constructed law around the theme of 'child sex' encompassing minors as defined by the nationals own country, not the law of the country in which the 'crime' has taken place.

In many countries women younger than this girl are starting families and living serious adult lives. Its no reason at all, sorry ... you're not bending her over the couch having your wicked way with a minor ... you're simply chatting with her and developing (potentially) a friendship. As there is almost no chance of you two meeting, I infer that from the posts above, I don't see what the law has to do with anything. The second reason is I feel she is the kid and I'm the adult. Women, by and large, like older men, mabye only a bit older maybe a lot. If you were 35 I'd agree with you, only because she _is_ relatively young, if she were 25 then all bets are off ... 35, 45, even 55 YO men are not out of the question. But you are bang within her age range as an 'older man' at 25 if she's within sight of 17 or 18. You are right I will admit yeah being lonely, but its what I wanted exactly.
