I didn't ask for this girl's number in the shoe store! She was so receptive!! DAMMIT!

Okay, so me and my friend went into a shoe store today to buy some laces. I made a humorous comment to her and she smiled, then when we went to buy the shoe laces they were £1.49, so I said "could you do them for £1" and she replied with "Okay, it's always nice to make new friends" and then at the end I said "Sorry, what is your name?" and she told me it and then I shook her hand, told her it was nice to meet her and she said "nice to meet you to" and I walked out the shop!

ARRGGGHHHH!! Why the hell didn't I get her number? I could of done it. She was being really receptive and she said "It would be nice to make new friends". She spoke with an accent, so I am assuming she hasn't met many people.

Help me out, people! That was just a blatant mess up. Would it be too creepy to go back there next week? I don't want to seem like a creeper though.

Yes you can go back and you can go back a few times. I'd go back tomorrow though. The sooner you see her again the better.

I would just ask if I could get different colored laces or something.. lol

Personally I don't see why you couldn't just go in and say with a smile "hey, y'know, I was kind of kicking myself that I didn't just get your number yesterday, you wanna go <insert here>?"

It's only creepy and unwanted if she's not attracted to you, so I would just shrug my shoulders and say "meh, can't blame a guy for trying, can you?" That's basically the attitude to have. It's a little easier said than done, of course. But if you've got the balls..

GO BACK THERE! You won't look creepy if you buy something and if you seem seriously interested in whatever the hell you're buying lol.

Seriously though, who cares if he's buying something? She'll know why he really went there, buying something's just a waste of money in my opinion. He could just be up front about what he's doing.. If she wants to reject him, she'll do it whether he pays 3$ for a pair of black shoe laces or not.

Thanks for the replies, guys. The thing is, I don't know when she's going to be working next. It would be fine If I was psychic lol, but I kind of want her to remember me. But then again, I know that shoe shop well and it doesn't get busy. It is a cheaper store, so I'm not sure you're going to get many guys talking to her.

What do you guys suggest about going back? If she isn't there next time, would it be worth asking the cashier at the time when her next shift is? Or too desperate?

I would not ask her work mates when she is working, because when I worked in retail we never told strangers that.

If it is a small store and quiet, chances are that she is one of just a few workers.

Go back and say that you need more laces, because you like them.

OR ask for help for buying shoes. Get her to bring you different sizes. Ask her where she is from. If she is new to your area, ask if she moved with family. That way you know if she has a boyfriend. Ask of she hasade friends yet, and if she says no, then say that you and some friends are going to a pub on the weekend tell her she is welcome to come. Invite female friends too so she does not feel awkward.
