PogoStick Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Was texting with a girl I just met and we were discussing seeing Bill Maher, hardcore lefty/libertarian. Speaking about attraction I say, a girl may be cute and intelligent but if she's a gay bashing Republican then it won't work. So she asks if I'm gay to which I respond, Never done anything with a guy but I'm adventurous. Well she ended it right there because I wasn't straight enough. Though it was already a bad sign when she spammed me 10 different pictures of herself. I could feel something was a little nutty. 1
Buttercup84 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 What a tool. If a guy said that to me I would jump his bones. 3

He's as libertarian as Bill Gates is poor... 4
Feelin Frisky Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Never ever use this word to describe someone like Bill Maher. He's as libertarian as Bill Gates is poor... Yeah, lefty/libertarian is an oxymoron. I myself am not "adventurous". Good heavens. What a thing to say to a potential g/f. "I haven't yet but I might chug cock, who knows?" See ya! 3
Treasa Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 I like guys who are adventurous. Also, I'm left and libertarian. 2
fortyninethousand322 Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 I like guys who are adventurous. Also, I'm left and libertarian. How are you using these terms? They have different meanings in Europe vs the US.
Author PogoStick Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 Well the right has claimed the word libertarian but they sure like passing laws to restrict liberty, and have no problem telling even other countries how to behave. And Frisky, Thanks for the insult but I'm not afraid of a dick and I know plenty of women who are turned on by that.
Jowee Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 idk, dont want to get too political but libertarian is an interesting ideology because socially speaking they generally are very left leaning. However fiscally speaking and foreign relations wise they are hard right... some people see libertarians as kinda in the middle but not the same as a moderate, how I see them as being split to the far extremes. Most of the younger libertarian people I know are all for gay marriage, ending the drug war, reforming immigration (not to keep people out, but to let them in). But then they are strong on reducing the size of the government, being fiscally conservative (never a bad thing anyway), etc. I personally am socialist so I am far left in just about every way but I actually get along just fine with libertarians because at the end of the day most of them are not trying to control how I live my life. some libertarians I know though are actually anarchists but I dont think they've realized they have gone that far... or for appearances sake dont actually want to admit it. anyway just my two cents. 1
Author PogoStick Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 Not really a big deal to me as I have nothing invested in the situation. I just found it ironic we're discussing a very liberal event. Then being afraid of a guy, who's never touched another guy, for simply being open-minded.
Jowee Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 and to actually comment on the point of this thread... that's dumb. Maybe she isn't secure in her own sexuality... that or maybe she had a relationship with a guy and he left her for another man and it made it harder to deal with. I personally would be stupidly jealous if I was dating a girl and she left me for another girl... mainly because if I could have been born female I would have wanted that, so it would have been a slap in the face. Point is, there could be multiple reasons for this... she might not actually dislike gay/bi people, there may be other reasons.
tricolors Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Yeaaaaaah. I'm not even vaguely "adventurous" or gay-curious, but I 100 percent support gay marriage and the like, I have no problem with gays, etcetera. That being said, I'm a guy, but from a woman's perspective, most probably aren't gonna be thrilled if you say you might also be into dudes too. By all means, if you really are, it's probably something you should tell them pretty quickly in a relationship. You don't have to be a gay basher or homophobic not to want to date someone if they're bisexual. 1

But then they are strong on reducing the size of the government, being fiscally conservative (never a bad thing anyway), etc. This describes me fairly well, except that I completely realize that some bad things happen to very good people, and they shouldn't be left out in the cold. Also, I fully support our troops, but I hate war. I'm pro-choice, but couldn't see myself ever having an abortion unless my life was seriously at risk. I am very science-oriented, but personally believe in God. I am not any specific religion. I think people should be free to do what they want as long as they don't directly hurt someone else. Gay people? No problem whatsoever. Drunk drivers? Grrrrrrr....
shiver23 Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Oh boy. As a bisexual (I've never been with a girl but there's the possibility I might be someday), this kind of comment actually affects me. I personally wouldn't care, but some people are really thrown off by things outside the hetero-normative. Personally, I tend to fall for straight but liberally minded guys (who make comments like you just did.) I definitely like my people adventurous and open-minded. 1

shiver23 Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Girls like you (I assume) make this world a better place! Thank you, and you're correct, I'm most definitely female. Now to find a man (most likely) to match me/ see if my ex is willing to try and make it work. The main problem with dating, is that you can see possibilities, but you can't know anything until you try. Off topic though. Good luck in the search.
