so this is probably one of the most random posts haha but here goes.

i am not sure if i have a fetish or not.i was born and raised in england but have this thing for new york accents.so it doesnt matter if i meet guys in the uk i like i feel like im more into men across the pond.its hard to explain.i dont make life easy for myself.because obviously due to distance its not the easiest kind of relationship to maintain.i love the style of men from that region of the world.i cant help feeling more attracted to them.i know we all have preferences of who we want to date ie height hair colour etc,but i dont know if my type is more of a fetish rather than just a preference.i know people have bigger issues to worry about in their love lives but i would greatly valuve everyones input it is kind of driving me crazy.

It's a fetish for Americans (Britishphiles) but preferring the familiar for those born and raised there.

I don't know if that would qualify as a fettish, I'm just delighted to have a New Yawk accent. I was born in NYC and lived there for all but three years of my life. I took voice-over lessons because at one time I narrated training videos and had to realize that I did have some glaring traits that I just took for granted was the way people speak American:D. I live in Virginia now and the locals seem to know right away where I'm from when I open my mouth. I'd love to entertain you. :)

It's a preference, not a fetish. The word is overused so much that people think anything you have a particular liking for is a fetish, but that's not the case. It's only a fetish if you absolutely must have the presence of some special object or a specific scenario in order to get off at all. There's nothing uncommon or abnormal about this but it's not as simple as just liking something.
