Hey all, I have been with my great guy for a long time. But I cant stand his parents! They are very cheap and very ....not my kind of parents. They are making him pay for his college...they didnt tell him this till after he graduated!!! They tell him hes not making enough money right now, but yet they let him pay for their dinner and other expensese such as glasses (which any adult should) but yet they demean the money he is making. I say he should save every dime because it builds up in time, but yet...they dont. they say its too little so why worry about saving it. THESE ppl have lived in their small house for 20 years and it still ISNT paid off. I do not want that kind of lifestyle. To me, every penny counts. They treat him like a child "get home from wherever you are going early so you can go to church". His mom is a church monger and it makes me very uncomfortable. She wants me to go to church with her, but i dont want to. so when i visit him, i try to stay away from his house.

I guess I just notice his demeanor change when hes living at home with his parents- he does not have enough income to support himself yet. He becomes more child like, etc. what do i do? I want him to grow up but his parents suck!

1st- My house my rules - goes double when it's a parent/child relationship.

2nd- why are you so concerned w/the monetary/material workings of his family?

Is your BF happy at home? If not he could get a job and get out. Perhaps the prob is not their control as much as his immaturity.

I am concerned with the monetary things of his family because that will be how he turns out....what they say, he listens. He is trying to get a job so he can move out, but sometimes i think he isnt trying hard enough. Oh well...im working on my own things, trying to get my degree, get my career...do my thing. the saying goes women are more mature than men sometimes!
