I dont know what to do when she does contact me? My ultimate goal is to get her back. We dated for 3 1/2 years. She's 18, I'm 20. We broke up a month ago. We hung out Sunday. Had a great time. She asked me not to date anyone else, and she promised to do the same. ( I know she is telling the truth) she then told me she just needs time. I really want to contact her, but I'm scared ill mess it up. She said she needs more time for her friends and family, and she thinks dating me, she will lose that again! I assume she will contact me soon. I stopped contact with her after our date. When she does text me, should I respond, and when she does ask,to hangout, should I,agree to it,or no? I don't know how strong I am to say no, or not respond, but if it gives me a better shot at getting her back, I'll do it!

She asked for some time alone; give her that time alone.

If she contacts you first, then here are some ideas:

The next time she contacts you, respond to whaever she contacts you about.

If it's a simple text "How are you?" answer "I'm fine, and I'd like to see you."

If it's a call "Hi, would you like to get together" answer "Yes, where and when?"

If she contacts you in any other way for any other reason, be clear, honest and direct with her:

"I want you back, but I want to honor your request for time and space. I still care, so please please let me know if you decide to date again or if you decide to break up permanently."

Also tell her this very clearly "After a little time and space, don't leave me hanging in the middle. Tell me the truth if it's a breakup. Don't expect to break up with me but still keep me hanging on as a friend."
