Silly_Girl Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 A year and some days ago a friend encouraged me to go online dating. I had been through a transition period, relationship and job wise, and was keen to get out more, spend a bit more time with adults (love my son to pieces but thought he deserved a break from me occasionally!). Met a guy, we went for lunch. He lived a mile away. It was a slow burn for me, but thunderbolt for him. One year to the day - and the hour even - of our first lunch date and we were on holiday with my son in New York. We got the email from the solicitor to say we'd finally completed on our house purchase (it had been EXTREMELY complicated). We'd let his place, sold mine, and the day after we got back from holiday we moved in. It's his dream house, and I love it too. My lad is thrilled, he has his own floor now! That was 11 days ago. Last night we went out for a friend's birthday, invited 12 people back, drank wine, ate food and fell in to bed in each other's arms totally exhausted and supremely happy. We've almost finished unpacking, which is just as well as our DIY wedding is in July and we have lots to do. I have never been so happy. I know I was lacking in relationship role models, but even so, I didn't know two people could fit together so well. It's so easy, yet exciting, simple yet fulfilling. And he's amazing. I am impressed by him more each day. He's everything I want and need in a man. And he says I am perfect for him also. He's smart, funny, sensitive, hardworking and sexy. He treats my 16 yo son as though he were his own, and he steps up to the plate time after time after time. I am so lucky. So lucky! I just needed to share because sometimes I just get a little overwhelmed by it all  15

cocorico Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Glad the "dopey accent" grew on you and that you've allowed yourself to accept genuine, uncomplicated and sincerely meant love without waiting for the crocodiles to surface and drag you under. You've earned this, now enjoy it! 1
