SiaLv82 Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I need a man's perspective on this guy's behavior.. We hook up after a few casual dates and months of talking. I stayed for a few hrs after wards in which we just talked about anything/everything. He didn't call to make sure I got home nor called the following day. A day later I made a status update on my FB about needing some help with some things I needed to move out of my apartment. I got a quick text from him and an e-mail making sure all was ok and offering help. Wth? We text back and forth and then he calls and asks when we are going to see each other again. He asked about the weekend and I accepted for that Friday. So Friday rolls around and we are out for drinks. Since we hooked up I wanted to sort of test the waters and see how he would react to certain things. I tagged him at our location on our facebook page. Well, unbelievably, he freaked out and asked me to remove. His reasoning being that he had a lot of co-workers from his professional and he thought it looked bad because we were at a bar and not a restaurant or somewhere upper class. I'm not a stupid girl and I know this was total bull as there were a few other tags on his page and alcohol related statuses. I did as he asked and abruptly ended our “date.” I also removed him from my facebook. The day after he calls and apologizes stating its not what it seemed and he wasn't trying to hide that he was out with me. This is were the confusion is. He does invite me over to his place every Friday when he has friends over and his room mate goes out of his way to say hi whenever I call. He tried to add me back on FB as well this week. Anyone who knows our story thinks he is a little overboard with me in almost a smothering way so the freak out was really a surprise to me. Since the start he has been the one to call and not a weekend has gone by that he has not wanted to see me. He doesn't call every day as he use to but calls enough to make plans that I assume there really isn't anyone else. He has previously invited me to work functions as well. We had a very lengthy phone conversation after we left the bar that night. I found out that an earlier fb tag of a girl on his page wasn't an actual friend but someone of whom he had tried to date and it didn't work out –one month earlier and about two months into us talking -to his benefit I did tell him prior to this that I was just looking for casual bc I wasnt ready for a relationship. However, this is my major issue. He was obsessively calling me and acting very clingy during this time BUT he takes another girl out to dinner? She told him she wasn't interested not the other way around. At the end of the conversation, I told him we were just friends and nothing more would ever come about. I thought that would be the end of it but he has since continued to call me and try to take up my weekends. I turned him down last night and plan to do the same today. I am assuming there is someone on his fb that he likes that he doesn't want to blow his chances by letting her know he was out with another girl. Am I right with this conclusion? And why in the world does he keep calling me ALL THE TIME. He now refers to me as “friend.” Friends don't hang out every single week and weekend and go on date like activities. He is seriously one of the nicest guys otherwise -almost the type that usually gets screwed over bc they are too nice. I enjoy spending time with him but have lost interest since this last situation. Can a man please spin the perspective so that I can understand what is going on here? Seriously confused since his actions don't quite fit the facebook behavior and I still do not believe it is because of work.
