Frankly, it's disconcerting the amount of stock women may place in the opinions of their friends and family.

 

I know some of it is unavoidable, but honestly shouldn't a woman also be able to think for herself?

 

In my case family and friends are integral to my life. They provide the balanced filter when I'm overwhelmed with hormones; I do value what they say. I grew up in a culture where family was paramount so I do stress their opinion when I choose a partner. I don't need their approval but it is important that we click.

I 100% do not think that you should have been having sex by now, I really don't care what the posters here think, they are completely wrong. I can tell you that I wouldn't have had sex with you after meeting you four times even if I was crazy about you, because I'd need more time to know and trust you, for some women sex is not like brushing our teeth. Thanks! I hope I never turn into one of these ultra-jaded dudes you see posting here. I've made it 33 years so far without turning into that. I'm just being me, nothing more. I hope I'm showing her what she needs as well.

 

I was never into rushing into things even when I was younger. Not for any goofy religious reasons or anything, I'm areligious, it just seemed like the right thing to do. Not necessarily as slow as this thing right now...but it's different, I'm older, forging relationships that last is more important.

 

Just as I was typing this, I got a text from her saying they just arrived home, and her and her mother thanked me for the flowers, which she said are gorgeous. So, I think that went over quite well.

 

I thank you for your continued responses to my threads, as well. It is truly much appreciated. It's nice to know someone thinks I'm doing the right things.
