Von Trapp Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Long story short, I've been dealing with anxiety issues all my life. When I was in secondary school, these issues, along with bottled up emotions, festered into a case of depression. Everything was just so overwhelming - abandonment issues caused by absentee parents, introversion, being openly gay and not being accepted for it everywhere I went. I met a girl in school who was there for me and gave me something to look forward to at the time (2008), though she turned out to be the worst thing that ever happened to me. Basically once she found out I was damaged goods and couldn't offer her the joys of being in a functional relationship, she turned and ran to someone who could. It's been almost 5 years since then and I haven't been able to get over her. I know people say you just need to go out there and meet new people, but social anxiety makes it so hard. I've been to 3 schools and dropped out of all of them due to the inability to cope with my anxiety, and have been practically living like a hermit ever since. I'm just sad and lost and hurt now. Any idea how I can get about my life again?
head/heels Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 You need to go to a counselor and work through this and process your life over the past 5 years. Also I assume you are a gay female who met your ex gf 5 yrs ago and not a male who is gay and met a female and is mixed up about your feelings for a woman. I hope that makes sense.
