An answer to another's question brought this to mind: How much information should your husband or wife receive or expect to receive about your activities while you are apart? Assume that you are on the best of terms.

For example: if my husband goes golfing, should he tell me who he went with? If I go for lunch with a male client during work, must I mention this? What if he goes for coffee with a female co-worker, should he tell me?

I would like to hear all of your answers.

I think a spouse should know everything. I would avoid doing a one-to-one lunch with a client of the opposite sex if at all possible (I'd try to arrange a regular meeting in the office), and would NEVER do a one-to-one lunch with an opposite co-worker. I expect the same from my husband. By not putting yourself in a situation that could be misconstrued by any of the parties, you totally avoid any issues. Makes life SO much simpler...

Eh...only if you have trust issues. I don't feel the need to know every-single-thing my husband does.

I think it's respectful to keep an open communication involving what's going on with eachother at all times.

I don't expect my fiance to tell me everything about his day. Personally, I wouldn't worry if he had lunch with a female boss or co worker. However, he's respectful of my feelings, and always tells me where he's going, or who he's with.

I do the same for him, too.

But, everyone is different. I don't think it should be a forced issue.

I can't follow my man around everywhere he goes, nor would I want to, so trust has to be involved, too. He feels the same way.

Unless you're up to no good, there should be nothing to hide.

I have to go to lunch with male clients all the time. And it can't be avoided. My b/f doesn't care or ask me about it. Sometimes I tell him about the lunch/ meeting and what was discused/ if I made a sale/ or what the person is offering and he helps me make desicions.

I don't see a problem with taking male clients to lunch....but I guess it depends what kind of job you have.

As for who he Golfs with I don't think it's an obligation to tell you but there would be no reason to hide it. ( do you really care? chances are he isn't taking a woman)

I would just keep things open but no need to Report all daily activities at the end of the day.
