ohaimark Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 My girlfriend and I broke up about 2-3 weeks ago, mutually, and we want to remain in each other's lives after things settle down (she said she wants me in her life, and we agreed at my suggestion that we get lunch or something in a few weeks), and we still care about each other a great deal (her depression and school stress played a major role in the breakup). We haven't been in contact since I picked up my stuff from her apartment about 2 weeks ago, and I'm holding myself to no contact for a period of time. How much time is generally advisable before reaching out again? Her semester ends in early June, is that too long or too short?
Mack05 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 60 days is recommended in the book getting past your breakup, but its different for everybody. You need to be 110% over each other to be friends. In my experience that takes longer then 60 days..
