Meeting the folks in the age of "non dating" dating / hanging out as a group.

In the age of hanging out as a group, then having couples form within that hang out group what does it mean to meet the parents of one member of that group? Specifically the one your "dating". (see the link in my sig for more explanation.)

I find your post interesting, and the link in your signature. In recent times I've found out that's how "dating" has been in some other countries for decades. Interesting that it's coming here.

 

I don't think I'd put any stock into meeting the parents of the person you're courting early in a relationship. I've met the parents of several girls I've been in relationships with before we were ever serious.

 

More context might be needed...does she specifically want you to meet her parents, or are you just going to happen to be in the same place?

The meeting already took place. The way it was orchestrated, by her, indicates to me that meeting her family was something she wanted all of her friends to do. The fact that I sat with her family and spent so much time conversational with them, quite well indicates they may have been curious about me.

 

When I suggested she meet my family she did not act like it would be an awful thing to do.
