You abandoned me, and left me alone

Do you not recognize me now?

For indeed I have grown.

The marks on my face? Each one a scar

And of these withered feet?

I have traveled quite far.

Thy blade cut deep, I stumbled and crawled

I hit the ground hard,

I echoed and bawled.

Tis no secret, you shattered my heart,

No, I admit it

It hurt from the start.

But a man, you see, indeed feels pain,

And he cleans his own mess,

And acknowledges the stain.

Ex, dear love, I love you still,

But why do I love one

Who attacked my own will?

My teammate, dear one, remember that?

We were together once,

Before I was seen as a doormat.

But when a man is attacked and begins to bleed,

Dont you know?

With that blood, he may feed a new seed?

And from that seed, a deep strength doth grow

The man you once knew,

Has but more in tow.

You abandoned me, you see

And approached me not in love,

But more as an enemy.

Yet, dear love, I love you still,

But I keep my self strong,

And maintain my own will.

"Ex", I love you, I really do. This much I know to be true. But when you hurt a soul, and throw that soul away, recognize that soul to be more than just for play. That, that very soul you tossed aside, has what we call pride. My own ECHO I hear, and I admit I did cry. But I have wisdom to know, I can do no more than try. And done is done, neither you nor I have won. But as time pushes you into the past, I know this strength I harvest each and every day is truly meant to last.

Echo, it is understandable you're hurting. But imho, you're concentrating a lot about it. Maybe you should try a positive set-up?

I think this is amazing. Poetry is a wonderful way to help yourself heal.

It is a different language that helps you to somehow reach deeper.

We can't just get badly hurt and get up and go, it would be like trying to run a marathon with a broken leg.

I agree, it's awesome. :D

But getting too much into is equal to opening wounds all the time.
