so this small company were looking online for an intern to help when it gets too busy for them. the job is video editing. i have good experience.

she sent me a first assigment, after weeks of saying she would. i did it. she loved it (so she said) then as nothing further workwise came up from her i made her a intro for her company which she also loved.

really nice woman, but she keeps saying she will send me work then doesn't or its really really late.

its meant to be an unpaid position for a month then paid (but low-intern money) but i feel i cant even justify her paying me by the volume of work so far. i thought if she loved my videos she'd send me footage and work all the time. she said she is just busy at the moment.

am starting to be a bit insecure that she didnt like some of what i send (this is an at home position by the way.

its coming up to a month, o technically at some point soon we should have a money talk. but i just dont feel like ive done enough work for her.

should i look for other video freelance work? she was meant to send me some footage 3 days ago and i had loads of time to work, and still nothing.

confused. thnxxx

Sounds fishy to me. I suggest looking for other freelance video work where you get paid upfront (even if it's only a percentage, with the remainder on completion).

You're dealing with a woman who is flaky but also probably too busy to even deal with an intern. For some small companies, having an intern can end up being more of a burden than a help -- coming up with tasks, figuring out how much to trust the intern's work, etc. etc.

But she agreed to pay you, she's said she's satisfied with her work, and it's her fault she hasn't given you more when you've been willing/available. So I think you should take the payment regardless.

And BY ALL MEANS seek other freelance work. Say yes to everything that comes your way. You'll probably get some weird and disappointing assignments along the way, but you need to build up your samples, contacts, etc.
