irc333 Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Apparently, I appealed to this local lady so much, that even though I don't meet her dating criteria, she wants to meet up with me. She said that I was funny, however, she thought she might be too old for me (She's only 48) and that I'm too short to date. Another "Short guy" thread? Of course! lol
SmileFace Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Your post to threads started ratio must be bonkers... 7
Author irc333 Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 Miniature golf would be a good date. If I do , it's a DUTCH treat...considering what she already told me. 1
carhill Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I would pay for it just to fill the evening with short jokes
StanMusial Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 "Well you're too old and ugly, but I'm willing to give you a shot. Better make it count." 5
serial muse Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Miniature golf would be a good date. I logged in just to like this because it made me giggle. 1
MidwestUSA Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Be sure to pick up a box of petit fours for her! 1
Author irc333 Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 I would pay for it just to fill the evening with short jokes And I will follow it up with making a physical move to break that "Friendzone" thing she already placed me in. LOL.
MrCastle Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 She actually said that and you're going out with her anyway? Lol I guess "pride" is not your thang. 6
somedude81 Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Why would a woman even think saying such a thing is acceptable? 1
xxoo Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Why would a woman even think saying such a thing is acceptable? Because he accepted it. He's still going out with her. 1
PJKino Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Why would a woman even think saying such a thing is acceptable? Because they can get away with it where if a man made fun of a women being fat or ugly hed be called an awful human being 1
tbf Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Notice how she trash talked herself about her age? Sounds like she's no less brutal on herself than on irc333. If you're going to date her and are the sensitive type, she might not be the person for you. 1
Star Gazer Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 "She's only 48." This whole time, based on your threads about dating and figuring out how the whole process works, I have been assuming you were early 20's. 3
KungFuJoe Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Because they can get away with it where if a man made fun of a women being fat or ugly hed be called an awful human being They only get away with it if the guy still goes out with them afterwards. In this case...ummm...yeah...she got away with it.
TigerCub Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Who is this new woman? weren't you supposed to be going out with a woman that agreed that short men had it rough? What happened to her - you posted about her like 2 days ago. I had high hopes for that one because you 2 had so much in common when it comes to analyzing what was wrong with you collective past dates. Is that woman at least still in the picture?

Yes, she's still in the picture, doesn't hurt to have multiple communictions going on at once time, just in case someone decides to flake.

soccerrprp Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Well, how did you feel about it when she said that you were too short to date? I can't imagine that made you excited for the date. My thoughts as well. But I dated a lady that was a couple inches taller than me after she made a similar comment. I'd give it a go. If she was completely turned off by it, I don't think she would have agreed to go out, right? Never know, she may find that your height is insignificant compared to what other qualities you offer.
TigerCub Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Yes, she's still in the picture, doesn't hurt to have multiple communictions going on at once time, just in case someone decides to flake. Glad she still is. Honestly irc why would you even entertain the thought of hanging out with someone that has already made it clear that they are settling when it comes to you? 1
Poppy fields Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Desperate times call for desperate measures. 3
carhill Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Honestly irc why would you even entertain the thought of hanging out with someone that has already made it clear that they are settling when it comes to you? One potential answer is one never knows who they'll run into at the miniature golf course. More social opportunities are better, IMO. Also, the lady who, initially, without yet meeting the OP, appears to be 'settling', may in fact change her mind upon meeting him. Women do that 1
