blugirl Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I wanted to share my frustration over the recent news of N Korea threatening to start a war...... it's like, are you kidding me?! I've been in LDR with my SO for almost 3 years, and now, when I've finally gathered enough money to go to Taiwan in Sept/Oct to get a job there and to meet him in the Philippines (where he lives) for the first time, those idiots jump out with a war??????? I really hope the war won't start. Cause it would be like a fckin' joke, ironic laugh of fate. Not to mention I'd be driven crazy, worried sick about my SO. I'm getting more and more nervous each day, reading the news recently I know I shouldn't post anything if I don't ask for an advice but I had to share my thoughts somewhere, I can't stop worrying.....
january2011 Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Unlikely due to lack of resources. My source tells me that the real power is held by China and all they need to do is to cut them off. I suggest keeping your plans on track for now and monitor developments in the news/online.

January is right, that they couldn't fight a full scale war on their own, and I doubt China would back n. Korea if they did go through with their threats. I'm will be going to Korea to visit this summer, and I don't think my friends wouldn't let me come to the country if they had any real fear. Here's hoping KJU will stop being such a jerk

The former soldier, part of the X Corp reinforcement force, part of me says that since the US bases were abandoned in the Philippines that you would be in more danger then him while in Taiwan unless he were an OFW in Japan or South Korea.

I'll be fine, I'd be more worried about him... lol Yes, these countries should not go to war because it will put a strain on your long distance relationship. Nevermind the thousands of people that would die... That comment is unnecessary and plain dumb, since it's obvious I don't want a war also because people would die but it's a LDR forum so I didn't come here to talk about people dying, huh.....?
