I'd also suggest a change in behaviour in terms of how they do their work. That is, if they tend to keep on top of things but suddenly starting distancing themselves from projects, not taking on new ones and not being available for input.

 

You might also see a lot of furtive phone calls and emailling. Going out for longer lunches, possibly to have meetings with recruiters.

 

But then you won't know that they are looking for a new job until they hand in their resignation. Something else could be going on.
