Right so I've been seeing this polish guy for a week. I'm English and quite reserved but he seems quite intense. I don't know if it's just a culture difference or whether this guy is going to bury me in a forest somewhere in the near future.

In person he seems more or less normal....very polite and sweet....but by text and Facebook he seems nuts - he tagged me in a relationship status (which I ignored), he's text me every day to say he misses me and uses terms like "my Angel" and "my sweety" (heave) which seems kind of possessive, and he says things like "I am so lucky to have met you, you are one in a.million" (I'm embarrassed writing this, it's just so intense and weird to me)

Now I've been open minded to this point, and just thought it's no big deal....but tonight he wrote on my Facebook (on a status about a speeding fine that my friends were joking around about) "you can already call me the Punisher for this"

Now, I feel a bit scared. Lost in translation, or a proper lunatic?

Proper lunatic. I'm eastern european and I can tell you that we can seem a little bit crazy and we do show a lot of emotion, but not in this way. When it comes to romance, I'd say we can seem cold and have our guard up longer than most people. We are very reluctant when it comes to big displays of affection. Of course this all changes when we find the right person.

naaaaah, some Eastern European guys are really straight forward. Very straight forward. Warm. Not that sophisticated. Honest - or at least meaning well...

I don't know, if you don't say anything, he might think you're just shy - guys will take over, if allowed. If he's making you feel uncomfortable, you should def tell that to him. You'll realize by his reaction if he's crazy or not. Normally, he'll get embarrassed for having been over the top.

There is a HUGE, I really mean HUGE cultural difference, though... especially if the guy is young and is relatively new to your part of the world. tell us how it goes.
