El Brujo Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Now here is a straight-up question for you... if you saw a "catch" going with someone "undesirable", would you feel it's so unfair that you'd try to break them up because you feel that the "undesirable" doesn't deserve a "catch"? Would you really be that bold IRL??? The way some of you people talk, you would.

january2011 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 How would you define a "catch" and "undesirable"? Our definitions might not align. I would see this situation as a "nice" person dating a user/cad/playa/abuser, etc. Some might see it as someone who is very good looking dating someone who is very plain. Though granted, in both cases, IRL, I would most likely not try to break them up. If it were a sibling in the first situation, I might check in with them regularly just so that they know that I'm there for them but ultimately, it's their decision to continue the relationship. On here, if an OP was in the first situation, I'd suggest DTMFA. In the second situation, I'd just think that there must be more to the relationship than looks. 2
ComeUpOutDaWahta Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I will see that there are at least a couple of different friends of mine whose lives would be MUCH better off if I had stepped in and tried to bomb some bad relationships they were in rather than just taking a passive role, like I did. Perhaps not, now that I think about it. They were dumb enough to get involved and stick around anyway, right?
ltjg45 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Nah. Too much effort, not enough reward. If they want to be together, let them. 1
Eternal Sunshine Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 If by "undesirable" you mean someone that is abusive and physically or emotionally harming someone I care about (i.e. sibling or close friend), yes I would intervene. If you just mean someone that is not attractive, then no, none of business.
