When my heart felt like it wanted to escape my chest and follow him to the ends of the earth, having nothing more to do with the body from which it had sprung; when my legs and arms quivered with every move turning to jelly so that every routine act felt like a monumental effort; and so many tasks went unattended; when the black fog sat, spread legged on my fragile psyche with no intention of shifting; there are people in our lives who, with a tone of concern, breezily tell us the well worn, well meaning and useful platitudes (which we all know here) that amount to either well meaning advice or 'buck up' attitude.

And people say that feelings pass, look to the future, get busy etc but none of that can be done without physical health. I just feel that the focus on emotional side of healing vastly dwarfs the attention on the physical side of health during this tumultuous time. Emotions and stress affect health and anyone on here recovering from a shattering experience knows the effects on their physical health that they can identify, and possibly more that we can't or haven't yet. I have had some repercussions due to my recent upheaval and i think that while i have closely stuck to the rules of getting over someone emotionally, and they have helped enormously, sometimes our bodies speak what our minds have suppressed.

So i guess with this i want to reach out and say to people who are physically suffering as a result of their emotional suffering, please be good to yourselves. Do whatever it is you need to do to feel better and don't feel guilty about it. Whether it's taking extra naps, or eating better (for the body and soul), or going out and getting laid, getting that bit of revenge (without breaking the law), cutting loose, or hunkering down with a book during your spare time for however long you need.

This emotional state is not, and should not, be a normal one and therefore likewise for your body. Who knows what effect the turmoil you are going through now will have on your physical health so minimise the risk and take care of you. God bless and peace out to everyone who reads this.

I admit it is a bit of a gloomy rant whilst trying to wax lyrical but the sentiment is 100% there. Thanks for your support mate (during my tiny slip)
