mesmerized Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Precisely - there is beauty in all forms . I've seen a lot of girls online say that . Not into the fit guys. I've seen it play out in real life too. When I was younger, my mum kept discouraging me from lifting weights because she didn't want me to get big and cut. Like a fool, I listened to her . I understand not wanting a super fit guy or huge muscles but when a woman says she wants a really scrawny guy or a guy with a beer belly, I can't help but raise an eyebrow! Usually there are other factors in play other than a natural raw sexual attraction. For example they are insecure about their own body and don't want someone hotter or they have daddy issues and the daddy had a big beer belly... 1
SteveC80 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 It's pretty common for women to prefer the bigger yet not ripped guy. I know my wife REALLY liked me when I was up to 215...but I had gained weight too fast and was flabbier than I wanted at roughly 17-18% bodyfat but she loved it. I'm at 200lbs now at roughly 15-16% bodyfat (which is still a bit higher than I would like). My goal is to keep my same weight but at 12-13% bodyfat. Ive heard the "i like you better with some meat as opposed to ripped" thing also in relationships and it mostly stems from insecurity and not wanting competiton and women going after your man more then being attracted to a man with extra weight or not beign turned on by the ripped look. Because being ripped sure didnt stop these women from initial attraction funny how its only a problem once we're in a relationship
Sivok Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 If the body type you're aiming to build revolves around the opinion of women, you will never be confident about your appearance. Say you go otter and you hear an offhand comment of a girl you're attracted to saying she likes chubby muscular - you'll be thrown off balance. Just put yourself in a workout routine and diet that you feel happy about, and you'll feel confident about the body that comes with it. Hear that word? Confidence - that's what matters most in not only the seduction of a woman you desire, but also in building any sort of relationship. 2

ThaWholigan Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Not to mention I would hate to be with a gym rat. Gross. I must note: You don't have to go to the gym to be ripped .
miss_jaclynrae Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I must note: You don't have to go to the gym to be ripped . True. But I also have to say that most men who are ripped tend to be gym rats. Lol
SteveC80 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 (edited) Not to mention I would hate to be with a gym rat. Gross. envy and insecurity arent attracive traits hun Edited April 2, 2013 by SteveC80
ThaWholigan Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 (edited) envy and insecurity arent attracive traits hun Is it really envy and insecurity though? It's easy to cast stones but I'm not quick to make those assumptions. (sometimes for some women it could be though) Edited April 2, 2013 by ThaWholigan
Author chex Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 envy and insecurity arent attracive traits hun Being delusional isn't either, bro. Just because you like your body doesn't mean everybody does. 4
xxoo Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 As a parent, I find the fit dads with less definition spending time with their kids at the park much sexier than the guys with ripped abs in the gym We have a lot of fit dads in our local park Lucky moms!
EasyHeart Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 A little advice for the younger guys: Unless you're particularly fat or skinny, it's not going to matter. Exercise for health, not attracting women. If you want to attract women, your time is better spent working on your personality, social skills and career than trying to chisel your body. 3

Can't you spend time with your kids while working out? I figure you could do some bicep curls using your kids as dumbbells and maybe put your kid on your shoulders while going for a run. Multitasking right? I may or may not be kidding here... 1

There is a program actually called "Adonis Index" that helps you sculpt what is called "the perfect male body" scientifically .

Yeah, I never got into weight lifting to get women. I got into it because one of my best friends in high school was trying to bulk up for shot put. So I went to the gym with him and it was fun, so I just stuck with it.

You can, and that's why they are fit moms and dads. We did our time with the jogging stroller. You stay in shape, but don't necessarily sculpt the ideal bod, you know? But yeah, dads biking, hiking, surfing, running, playing basketball, etc with kids are SO sexy to me

At one engineering college they use a certain guys last name as a weight measure, because twins were going to the college and weighed the same thing, they were on the lighter side, so people lifted them and now they're immortalized.
EasyHeart Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 There is a program actually called "Adonis Index" that helps you sculpt what is called "the perfect male body" scientifically .Hmmm, sounds kinda gay. Jess sayin'. Many years ago, I saw an article in Men's Health or a similar magazine about a scientist who had studies Michelangelo's statue of David (http://www.architectureis.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/David.jpg) and figured out what his measurements would be. I was pretty damn close back then! David would probably be "skinny fat" according to those pix in the OP.
USMCHokie Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Is it really envy and insecurity though? In general, yes. Very rarely do I see someone in very good physical shape look down on another of the opposite sex who is also in very good physical shape.

miss_jaclynrae Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 There is a difference to me between a fit and active man versus a ripped one who spends every extra moment at the gym lol.
