There are many women who aren't attracted to shorter guys and only find themselves viscerally attracted to taller guys (short and tall being relative to the particular girl)... including myself.

One of my good girlfriends, also named Star, used to feel the same way I do. She's also 5'4'', but recently met and fell in love with a guy who's just under 5'7''. She resisted even liking him for so long, but couldn't help herself - she fell for his personality and his pretty eyes. Funny though, for the longest time, she kept saying, "But he's so short!" as though she was wrestling with her own attraction to him.

Have any of you ladies experienced something similar?

I used to have a thing for tall guys. It was something I looked for. But I ended up in a (casual) dating situation with a short guy who showed me that height doesn't matter at all. He was charming, funny, hot, and GREAT in bed. And I discovered I liked the feeling of lying in bed with someone who's right around my size... there was a coziness and sense of equality to it that I found soothing.

After him, I've dated a lot of "short guys" and in fact will sometimes deliberately seek it out. I don't disregard anyone based on height, ever; and I don't give the tall guys the advantage anymore.

You can't help who you like. When you've got it, you've got it. Trivial things like height get thrown out the window when it comes to attraction.

I'm usually attracted to taller guys but I had crushes on a couple of shorter guys as well. If the attraction is there, I don't think I would fight it.

I've felt a similar thing on several occasions. Where I wanted to like a girl and she had several good features and a fun personalty, but her breasts were smaller than a C. I kept telling myself, "I can really like this girl but her boobs are so small."

Eventually I just convinced myself to go for it, because I can always buy her implants down the line.

 But we can't make you guys any taller. So we are totally justified not to want to go for shorter men I guess!

Have I ever eagerly found myself attracted to a man 3 inches taller than myself, like in your example? Yes, of course I have.

Men can't buy height.

I asked for ladies opinions regarding height. Please stay on-topic.

Prior to that instance, were you typically only attracted to taller men?

I have never "eagerly" gone for anyone shorter than me. Being 5'8", I prefer someone taller. Your friend is lucky she has someone taller than herself at least. He may not be tall, but at least she doesn't tower over him like I would once I put on a pair of 3 in. heels that I love to wear. lol My options are always limited in the height department, but I'm now giving men a chance that I normally wouldn't. Tell her to try and look past it. :)

Taller is better, size matters, just saying ;)

They're engaged, so she's over it already. :)

I'm more interested for myself... if there's a likelihood that I'd be viscerally attracted to a shorter guy, given that 99.99999% of the time, I've only been attracted to taller guys (which to me is 5'10'' and above).

I dig tall guys, but overall I prefer shorter (I'm 5'7"). Now that I think of it...all my clearly designated boyfriends were 5'9" or below; the two most serious were both 5'5". I've only ever really had flings with tall guys. Not sure why that is.

I will say I was rather hesitant about dating my first serious boyfriend because of him being shorter than me. I was definitely fighting my attraction to him. When we started spending more time together, I got used to it and was comfortable enough to even wear heels around him without a second thought.

I forget how tall you are...?

It's right in the post you quoted. 5'7".

Hahahahahaha.

How does being able to buy anything make it acceptable or unacceptable?

Your topic is about rejecting or not rejecting somebody based on a superficial quality.

The minute I saw this thread at 0 posts, I knew you would come in here on this kinda tip. Let it go man, let this be a test for you to stop caring that you're short.

So it appears that short men aren't able to follow instructions or stay on topic. So noted.

As long as the guy is taller than me (5'5) I dont care. A 5'9 guy doesnt have an edge over a 5'7 guy.

Considering the laundry list of beauty standards alot of men have today and also since guys weigh looks more heavily than women do, wanting a guy taller than you is not superficial.

For me, a 5'7'' and a 5'9'' are equal in terms of my gut level attraction to them. But a 6'2'' and a 5'7'', all other things being equal... my panties will drop for the 6'2''.

I am open to dating shorter guys, but it's been soooo rare that I've felt that RAWWWWWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRR! feeling towards them.

I am trying to get opinions and experiences FROM WOMEN ONLY related to having a strong preference for tall guys but having positive experiences from dating shorter guys. That's it. This is important to me, as I'm trying to be open to dating shorter guys, but having trouble doing so.

I'm asking respectfully that you guys stop responding to this thread, and let the ladies speak. If you want to talk about something analogous, start your own thread.

No, I would never eagerly date a short guy. They're not my preference.

I've dated one short guy before, and I was never happy with him. I resented him for not being taller. Would never date another short guy again.

Have you tried? Are they just categorically not "it" for you?

What about...Usher. He's 5'8'', and pretty hawt.

Would you not eagerly date him?

Robert Downey, Jr. Another 5'8''-5'9''. Hawt.

I soooo would not kick them out of bed.

5'8 is decent. I'm talking about guys who are 5'7 and below

You arent in your 20's are you? I find men in their 20's to expect women to have a flat stomach and curves all in the right places in copious amounts without the help of surgery even though less than 10% of women naturally have that body shape. They also expect us to roll out of bed looking like supermodels. Ill never forget one of my exes who praised my hair when I straightened it and when I put on some makeup yet bitched and moaned about how long it took me to get ready (when it wasnt even that long compared to other girls).

I also find it amusing on dates when guys tell me they hate it when girls eat like birds or refuse to eat steaks more than once a week and then in the next sentence make fun of a fat girl...*facepalm* Guys just dont get it.

PLEASE don't take this thread off-topic. Please only address the subject in the OP. Nothing more.

Last year, I dated an extremely attractive girl that was around 5'10. It was the first girl significantly taller than me that I ever dated.

It was AWESOME. I loved the way people looked at us....like "Who does that guy think he is?" I felt like such a boss.

I've dated/hooked up with a few taller girls since then and I'm really enjoying it. The girl I'm dating now is about my height. I keep encouraging her to wear high heels (the higher the better imo) when we go out. I don't tell her why though. :)

PS: Sorry Star Gazer for continuing to derail your thread. :p

It's strictly related to height, so it's okay. :)
