FitChick Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 "I don't like small talk." Let's just get straight to the sex. 4
soccerrprp Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 "I don't like small talk." Let's just get straight to the sex. I've known ladies who described themselves this way and it translated to: "I'm not a good conversationalist." OR "I don't know how to loosen up enough and talk about something random or casual." 1
pbjbear Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 'I hate drama and avoid having it in my life.' Translation: 'Hold on to your ass, cuz I'm about to hit you with some 'Excorsist' level psycho-freak out sh*t.' I say that all the time. For people in "real life" that just means I ice you out/cut you off when you act like a dick. I dont go psycho.
dreamingoftigers Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 "I like to live in the moment" - because I give no thought to the future and I am completely reckless and irresponsible. 2
dreamingoftigers Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 My last relationship "just didn't work out." We didn't "see eye to eye." -because I was an argumentative asshat and got dumped.
fortyninethousand322 Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 "I have insomnia and I've been on anti-depressants in the past". Translation: I can't sleep and I'm depressed. This is a girl I actually asked out for a 3rd date....
iKING Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 "I have insomnia and I've been on anti-depressants in the past". Translation: I can't sleep and I'm depressed. This is a girl I actually asked out for a 3rd date.... That one was pretty obvious. 2
fortyninethousand322 Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 That one was pretty obvious. Some people try to hide things in plain site... 4
HoneyBadgerDontCare Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Basically, what you guys are saying is that on my next date, I should just say absolutely nothing. 5
TheGuard13 Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Personally, I tend to find that people who make comments about drama are one of two things: 1. They actually do like drama, but are bad at maintaining a balance. In other words, they'd like it if it was on their terms and they could control its impact. Or: 2. They cannot handle basic adversity. What most people consider "drama" tends to be piddling emotional ****, usually revolving around someone's immaturity that could be easily solved by reasonable, rational planning and action, but a lot of people are simply incapable of that, so they simply abandon anyone who brings "drama" into their lives. I always find it kind of sad. 1
StanMusial Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 (edited) "It's not you, it's me." == "It is definitely you. I hate your guts." "Let's just be friends." == "Goodbye forever." "Just treat me like one of the guys." == "Meet your new shadow. Every golf outing, fishing trip to the coast, sporting event, pick-up basketball game, etc. expect to bring me along. In the event of a broken nail, a mussed outfit, or if I happen to get bored, you will be required to leave with me immediately. Your style is officially cramped mf'er. No burping or farting allowed." "I don't mind if you go out with your friends." == "When you come home smelling like booze and skanky bar hos you can expect to get cursed at and your ass kicked when you try to crawl into my bed at 2 AM." "We're just hanging out", said the girl with whom you inquired about her status with a certain guy. == "He thinks he's my bf but I'm looking at all my options. Are you interested?" TheGuard13 Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 "Let's just be friends." == "Goodbye forever." Heh. So true, and yet so sad. 1
curlygirl40 Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 A lot of you are much younger than I am so you probably don't see this as much as I do however: 'My friends say I look and act much younger than my age' Translation: 'I'm much older than you but I hope you will give me a chance' Own it. That's what I hate about that line. They are in their mid to upper 50's (and I understand that's not old, by the way) and look good for their age. Good for you, own it. Don't feel you have to excuse it by telling a girl in her early 40's "I look and act much younger than my age". Well, you know what? You're still in your mid to upper 50's! It doesn't change anything just because your friends say..... Rant over. Just had to contribute. :-) 1
FitChick Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 'My friends say I look and act much younger than my age' Translation: 'I'm much older than you but I hope you will give me a chance' Let's not forget that they are always 'young at heart.' Yet most of them look like a heart attack waiting to happen! 5
