Wanderer73 Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 This recently happened to a friend of mine, and I was looking for some opinions on the situation. I will change the names to protect the innocent, but you will get the idea. Each year my friend "Mike", along with his mother, and his brother "Chris" take a week long vacation in Arizona( They have relatives there ). This year a fourth person joined them on the vacation, a female friend of Chris'. The catch: This girl has a boyfriend. The other catch: its one of Chris' friends. Well the week wound up ending abruptly for the girl because as I was told in general terms, on friday, "Things were said that were not meant to be taken seriously" and the group was now three because the girl flew home a day early. In my opinion this girl should not have gone in the first place; she has a boyfriend but goes away for a week with his friend? sorry, doesn't fly for me. What do you guys think? any feedback would be apprechiated. The Wanderer
Karlise13 Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 I'm curious where YOU fit into this whole scenario. I mean, why do you need our opinions? Sounds like there was an argument, who knows what was said (I certainly can't tell from your post) and the girl left in a huff. Is your question regarding whether or not the girl was wrong to go on vacation without her boyfriend or is your question regarding what do we think transpired on this vacation? I am sort of baffled here.
Wanderer73 Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 I wanted to know what you think of the whole idea of her taking off on vacation with her boyfriends friend. I thought it was clearer. I don't know what transpired on that friday, nor did I ask, but it wouldn't have happened if she didn't go.
Adunaphel Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 I guess that if she went, her boyfriend was confortable enough with it. Perhaps he even *wanted*her to go. Besides if Chris is a good friend, I hope he would have never gone on a trip with his friend's gf if his friend did not like the idea. I'd go on a trip with my bf's friends if I liked the place and the company....and of course if my bf was okay with it. And surely I'd be more confortable if my bf went anywhere with *my* female friends than if it was with *his*female friends. Ask about those "Things were said that were not meant to be taken seriously", it would be interesting to know. If you really don't know what went on, my guess is that either Chris or Mike said something inappropriate to the girl or flirted with her, who got disgusted and left. In my opinion this girl should not have gone in the first place She shouldn't have gone *only* if her bf was not okay with it. Otherwise, there is nothing wrong if she went, and if Mike and Chris acted inappropriately and/or jerkishly with her you shouldn't try to put the blame on her.
Papillon Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Little Johnny is sitting on a park bench, munching one candy bar after another. When he peels open the 7th candy bar, an older man, sitting on a nearby bench, says to him: "You know, young man, eating so many candy bars is going to rot your teeth, give you acne, and make you fat." Little Johnny, between bites, replies: "You know, my grandfather lived to be 107 years old." "Oh?", said the man, "Did he eat 7 candy bars a day?" "No," replied little Johnny, "he minded his own f*cking business".
Adunaphel Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Papillon, LOL. So you didn't suspect even for a moment that this is not really about "a friend".
Papillon Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Nah, I didn't try to read between the lines, that would be presumptive. People should mind their own business, period.
tokyo Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 That joke was funny, better than your "duck joke".
