supermom Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 I'm winning the battle of the baba (bottle). My daughter hasn't had the bottle since Friday afternoon (9/10). I have stopped giving in, stopped getting upset and it's working. We started this on the weekend so that it didn't matter if we were up all night. She's learning that WE are the boss, not her (before it was her, we gave in all the time) Shes doing better than I thought. I've been praising her for using her sippy - telling her she's a big girl. I'll even take some swigs to show her it's a big girl thing. Wanted to update you all - this has been such a prob for along time, but I think I'm finally winning. ~Supermom
ladyangel Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Congrats on the bottle weaning. Now give them all away or throw them out. It will help you resist the urge to let her backslide next time she's not feeling well or something. Does she use a pacifier? That's one habit that's even harder to break. But if she's still using it, it will at least satisfy her sucking urge. Sippy cups are great aren't they? They can carry them around, drop them, and they won't leak everywhere. Great invention.
