He finally invited me over to his place one night for a party he was having. We seemed to have a good time, there was laughter and got to know each other better although nothing happened romantically. Now he is completely avoiding me. What do you think changed?

First thing I thought... Gut instinct... He realized it wasn't going to be easy to get in your pants so he backed off. If he took you on a really nice date, it would have been less obvious. I'm sorry that this happened, but he is not right for you if he was just going to use you.
