I hate how people feel they can just disappear from your life

Well, that friend and I had plans for today. I had set aside my afternoon and evening to be with him. He blew me off without a word.

I know it shouldn't hurt since he's obviously shown his true colors and it probably has nothing to do with me. In fact I have no idea what I'm hurt about because it doesn't make me feel bad about myself, and this shows me, barring some extreme circumstance, that he's not a great person, nor somebody I want anymore as a friend.

But for all that it still does.

:(

Have you heard back yet from the guy you were dating who's been out of town?

Yeah, actually it was a misunderstanding. I thought he had ignored a message I sent him on facebook. Turns out he didn't see it, and facebook said it was unseen so I know he's being honest. (I wasn't aware of this function until I did a little research.) He was very apologetic and said he's looking forward to seeing me soon. His flight got in yesterday

He hasn't contacted me yet about getting together but I'll give him a few days since I imagine he's jet-lagged. Was a very long flight. Hope I hear from him again.

I think I was just feeling paranoid because of the thing with the friend happening at the same time.

Oh, good for you! Hope you hear from him soon.

Sounds like you are in a long distance relationship so not hearing from someone in that circumstance is always a bit worrying.

As for friends disappearing, that's happened to me but, in hindsight, I was happy they did. They were usually the ones who drained the life out of me with their problems.

Guy I'm seeing just sent me this message: "Finally made it back yesterday and then slept for soooo long! So jet lagged! Oh! I have something for you :-) "

Phew. :p

This has been my experience with EVERY female friend I've ever had & it winds up going to hell because they are just selfish & shady.

I keep trying to make platonic female friends but they just keep screwing it up.

I simply refuse to believe a person who acts this way has any friends at all.

Yet they do so the obvious answer is they don't treat those friends this way.
