R2litefan Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 Hello, it's been a long time since I have needed any advice and you have given me such great advice in the past I knew you could help me again. For almost a year I have been dating this guy, who can be such a sweetheart at times but my problem with him is that for one he feels in order for us to have a relationship he must live with me, which I am not all that fond of and he knows it so he took a truck driving job that keeps him away all week and comes here on the weekends, which really hasn't been a problem, as I really enjoy his company. The problem is his ex-girlfriend, everytime he talks to her he is distant with me and I can tell when he's been talking with her and I really wouldn't mind because they have a child together but why does he treat me and talk to me so coldly when he's been around her? Is it what I am thinking? He's still in love with her? I have said that to him in the past and he said no that he isn't and he doesn't want to go back with her but he talks about her all the time and he calls her everyday and he uses the excuse that he wants to talk to his daughter, but now his daughter is in school and he still calls her while he's out on the road and it's not that he tells me this openly, it comes out when he tells me something and I ask him how he found that out and then he tells me that Julie told him. I just don't know what to do, tonight he and I were suppose to go bear hunting together and I had to work until 3 pm and when I got home I sat down for a few minutes to relax and he jumped up and said he was leaving, he had things to do and then he was going hunting, never once said anything to me about coming along and on his way out the door he said he would probably be really late because he was going to go out and have a few beers tonight and said see ya later and left. I don't know what to do, don't know how to feel, it hurts that he acts like this when he has seen his ex and I know he seen her today because he told me that he went to her house to see his daughter. Please help me if you can. Thank you.
