Divasu Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 This is kind of a spin-off to Miss Jones thread. Do you think most people only fall in love once? Multiple times? Or, do you believe that the more times you've fallen in love, the less special it becomes? Just curious to hear others perspectives.
soccerrprp Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Oh, there is no doubt that people are capable of falling in love multiple times. I also believe that each experience of real love is always special in it's own way. Not less, but different, perhaps. 1
iris219 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Each time I fall in love, I start to believe I was never really in love the time before because each time is better and feels the most genuine.
Cutiepie1976 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 There's no limit to love, and each experience is unique and special in it's own way. To think otherwise, in my opinion, is a little like saying you can only have one kid, because having a second means that you would love one of the two, or both less. Love isn't finite. In fact, I'd argue that the more you open up your heart to love, the more love you experience, and the richer your experiences.
Barnacle-Bob Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 If you're paying attention, once....regardless of which side of the coin you end up on.
Cutiepie1976 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 ...so widows and widowers who enjoyed incredible love and happy marriages that then ended prematurely are doomed?
veggirl Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 In LOVE, maybe 2-4 times? In LUST, in excitement, in like, many many times. I think a lot of people confuse other emotions (passion, lust, comfort) with love. I would be wary of anyone who has been "in love" many times. Just reeks of fickleness, lack of awareness to me.... At 29, I've dated and had serious relationships, and I think I've been in love twice. I am not the type to throw the L word around easily, at all. No guy is gonna date me for a couple months and hear "I love you" from me. Love is a deep thing, until you know all of someone how can you claim to love them?
Woggle Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Twice though the first time I don't know what the hell I was thinking.
carhill Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Renewable resource IMO. Death kinda puts a damper on it though.
Poppy fields Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I have had what I would refer to as immature/obsessive love occur 5 times. Lots of intense feelings I believed to be love. Lots of lust. No trust. Infidelities from various parties. Feeling a soul connection. I have only once experienced a mature, mutual, relationship of respect and caring. Deep feelings that are cherished and worked on constantly. Oh, and great sex, too.
Feelin Frisky Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I don't care what "most" people are capable of. I am quite capable of falling in love and recovering from disaster as many time is as possible in a human male's life time to get it right. I can't imagine falling in love with some smelly old battale-axe, but that's only a construct in the mind. To connect with a real woman even at advanced age when I myself are it an advanced aced still seems as weet as meeting the perfect girl when I was 16 or maybe better. I''l take care of you in every way if you validate the man I endeavor to be. Age excuses none of us no matter how decrepit we become. As long as our hearts beat and our minds connect, we can live at any time in any fantasy and be who we would like to be to fulfill each others dreams.
iKING Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I've fallen hard maybe 2-3 times, and never forgot each of them. The rest I fell for, but not like head-over-heels in love.
man_in_the_box Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 It happened multiple times when I was 15-16 and then never again so honestly I have no clue.
applej4 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 People can fall in love multiple times. Most say each time is better that the last.
Cutiepie1976 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 The correct answer is 69. Oh... Oh... Ohhhhh! Thank you for that enlightening answer.
