Does anyone have a friend who comes on too strong when you introduce them to others in your social circle? I have a good friend which I am realizing he does not have a lot of close buddies besides myself. Every time I introduce him to another guy in the group at the end of the night he'll immediately ask for their number. Then I end up hearing these strange stories how he blows up their phone for the next 5 days.

Wait a second......in fact he did the same thing to me when I first met him! xD

Is he coachable? Can you have a conversation with him about it? He's probably just lonely.

I think I've brought it up to him several times. It doesn't bother me or him at all. In fact we've all laughed about it before. I was just wondering if anyone else ran into something similar.

Umm I had an ex-bf who did that. I think he was lonely. There were two of my guy buddies he was calling/facebook messaging way too much. He also used people (including my guy friends), which is probably why he didn't have many in the first place. So that's not quite the same situation.

well it is obviously the way he interacts...not everyone interacts the same way, ..what do you like about him why is he your friend...i think you add the sum of what you like about him and subtract that one thing that annoys you and you have your answer on what you should do...i know the answer without the figures...just be his friend and accept him for who he is even the annoying things...that makes you a worthwhile friend for him to have.

dont sweat the little stuff..best wishes ..............deb

I'll be honest. I actually have the same issue of coming on a bit strong with some people. I guess, like some people have said already, part of it is because we feel a bit lonely. I have a lot of acquaintances/friends and I know who my real friends are for the most part.

I think for me, my coming on strong is partly rooted in how I grew up and me not being allowed to interact with a lot of people, even family members, outside of school and family functions. I was never allowed to do play dates, etc when I was younger and didn't have my first sleep over until probably when I moved onto campus for college.

I'm almost 25 and I'm still learning how to do a lot of things because of those limitations. Maybe this friend has the same issues.
