I'm just trying to get closet to the ideal standard of beauty as possible so that I can have more success in dating. I have to be able to compete with all of these lightskin/mixed/white/asian girls out here. Lightskin is a prerequisite for a lot of men

Guess what, baby....all the skin bleaching in the world ain't gonna change the wonky crap swirling through your mind and slipping out of your mouth.

Let's work on that stuff first, and then if that doesn't get you anywhere, go ahead and take your baths in Clorox.

Seriously? Seriously seriously?

Like why bother.

Babydoll, it's a good world to be a girl in, you don't need to go anywhere near that much effort.

If they don't like what you're selling, then stuff 'em \.

amirite?!?

yes, I really do have to put in that much effort. its 10x harder when you're a black woman because you are considered to be furthest from the beauty standard. most of the black men I see are usually paired up with light complected women with long real or fake hair. I have to find a way to compete so I straighten my hair, and lighten my skin. It has helped somewhat. But I haven't been able to lighten my skin significantly

looks come first and everything else is second. men couldn't care less about a woman's personality if it isn't wrapped in the right package

I dated a short man once and it was the worst year of our life. By the end of our relationship I was taking lexapro and smoking two packs a day. At night I would take downers in order to sleep and pray that I didn't have any dreams.

And that package gets thrown in the trash pretty quickly when they open it hoping to find candy but instead its filled with dead rats and sh*tty diapers.

I used to just like black men but not anymore. I'm attracted to White now

no, MJ used something different, benoquin, which made him too pale. there are advancements now where you can brighten evenly and it looks natural. I've seen a few members on this skin lightening forum do it. you would think they were born that color

Hey I would need to find out that skin lightening thing, I would like to do research on it. I may or may not use it, but I am curious to know how it actually works i.e., de-pigmenting melanin or something like that etc. Let me know.

Okay honestly, I see a lot of White men that date Black women over where I am at. It's not even that uncommon. You shouldn't have much trouble at all.

it suppresses the melanin. there are skin whitening shots but its very expensive. there's a doc in west africa that does it. he has made some west african celebs several shades lighter. some of the results come out looking amazing. for now I use hydroquinone and steroids

Well then I don't think it's going to be extremely difficult to find a guy. Plenty of men are open to women of all races and backgrounds.

That's not really true. There was this girl once I was so much attracted to and she's not even that pretty to be honest, I never thought she was pretty when I saw her the first time. But something about her, perhaps her irresistible charm made me like her so much that after sometime, I felt she was the most beautiful woman in the world. I don't deny that looks are important, however to say that looks trump everything else isn't true, atleast not true in terms of relationships.

OP, do you like any other race of men? Apart from White men and Black men, just curious.

this african entertainer spent $10,000 on lightening her skin. she spends thousands a month just to maintain it

You realize this is as bad as some of the guys on here, who say they just want a woman who isn't fat. You should be thinking about more things then just their height!

Yeah the Midwest is boring indeed, I know how you feel. It's not a place for single men/women esp. if you are from the minority, not saying that people don't date minorities and all but it's not really that diverse.

I could spend 10,000 to get that thing done but I can't spend thousands every month to maintain it. So it's not like a one time thing where once you get the surgery or the shots done you are going to stay that way, it's going to take maintenance every month is it. That sucks, I don't think I could do it then.

I'm gonna make my pics public for you.

I'm not 100% white. And in Australia the bits i'm most likely all mixed with are extremely extremely predjudicial.

You own who you are. You sell it like it's hot. Coz it is.

Jesus christ, really? Are you ****ting me? People do this? Why not just be proud of who and what you are?

Reminds me of "my strange addiction" when this black girl showed how she'd bleach her skin, rubbing actual bleach all over her body daily.. And it didn't actually do anything, but she felt like doing that was better than doing nothing at all, it struck a chord in me, because it made me think of some of the things that I realize I do that may be in vain, but give me comfort and make me feel like "hey, well, at least I did all that I could to TRY to change or correct what I perceive as a flaw in myself.."

Like a guy taking penis pills or hanging from a bar for hours just to get an inch taller.. It probably does more to comfort them mentally, than it actually benefits them in the way they'd intended for it to.

When I was young, other kids used to always say that I look sickly and ghostly with my nordic complexion. When I was *very* young, I would try to sit out in the sun and tan, and I would get a bit darker after burning like a lobster, but I'd still barely be any darker.. I'm still white as snow nowadays, but I figure I'll age like a vampire if I eat right, exercise and don't go out with the intention of tanning, a benefit which would be totally fine with me.. I do get a orange-yellowish/bronze-ish tan though quite naturally just from being in the sun, but then with the cold weather I'm as white as the screen that this text is displayed on. :p

I could try to burn and tan, or I could try to see and accept both the positive and negative view points of this (or ANY) particular feature, and choose to adopt the positive rather than negative and make the effort to understand why an overly negative view point may be irrational and un objective.

Umm.. Not saying you're lying, but, what else could you be? If you've got a non-euro genetic component, I don't really see it, to be honest with you. I don't think it shows in any of your photos. Do you? I'd like to think I'm a good judge.
