joel Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 btw:not really sure if she like me but have caught her glancing at me a couple of times, is this a good sign? never really talked to her-but once outside of class said- "so which courses have u signed up for in sept" and we talked about which courses she already took and i am taking. the whole converation was like 30 sec but she did respond by asking me how i was doing in our class we were taking and agreeing with me that she like the same story that i do-stories we had to read for eng lit. so does she like me what should i do
bluetuesday Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 there's not much to go on here joel. she's looked at you a couple of times and you once spoke for 30 seconds. hardly casablanca is it? look, it's possible she does like you. you caught her looking, there were probably other times when you didn't catch her so maybe she has been checking you out. it also seems as if she was trying to talk to you outside class which is a good sign - at least she's not ignoring you. but as for REALLY liking you? no. at the moment she MERELY likes you. but that's a running start. you're clearly not repulsive to her which always helps. next time you catch her eye, smile, hold it, look away, and then look back to her a few seconds later. if she's smiling or looking coy or still holding your gaze she's probably interested so try and work your way to being beside her after class again and get a conversation going with an open-ended question such as what she's reading now (i.e. not something she can just answer yes or no to). and good luck man. let us all know how you get on.
Author joel Posted September 10, 2004 Author Posted September 10, 2004 thanks guys for all ur great advice i now i been a worry wart so far, since i am 23 and have never dated or even had a freind who was a gal. just scared of the consquences. i am planning on askin her out for a lunch date-pizza and pop-flying wedge, or maybe dessert-death by chocolate, how much do u guys reccommend i spend on a lunch date-i am a student and do not have a job but do have some money in savings-not a lot though. some time soon on a friday hopefully she has fridays off. if the dinner date does come by i do not now how to explain to her since my folks hate me going out at night, maybe i just gotta make something up-got a job interview, got a volunteer orientation have to go, group project,or something just gotta make it smooth and with back up. don;t want to tell my girl that my folks won't let me out in the evenings.
bluetuesday Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 hmmm. so it seems not so much that your parents won't let you out in the evenings, but that they won't want you going out if you're seeing a girl? at 23 you're a fully grown man and you shouldn't have to lie about what you do with your own life. seems a little....unusually overprotective. is there are reason for this? as for how much you should spend, there are no rules. take her somewhere informal where she'll be comfortable and where there are lots of other people your age around. a place like that probably won't cost much. and any guy who offered me death by chocolate is liable to get his hand bitten off so that sounds like a plan! but don't jump too far ahead. at least speak to her first, it may be just that she wants a friend joel, don't set yourself up for disappointment. hope for the best and expect the worst and you'll be ok.
Author joel Posted September 11, 2004 Author Posted September 11, 2004 i think its move they don;t like the idea of me going out in the evenings. the girl thing they might even like-3 yrs ago i got my right ear pierced 2 holes- mom was fine with it and all till we went to a family reuniion-and mom got brainwashed by one of our aunts that a earring in the right ear is gay. i for one is not gay, i asked ppl in other forums about this issue and they said right ear was for gays-but not alwaasys the case nowadays. maybe i should just tell my folks i am a gay and then before u now it they love and beg me to get a gf,. lol or just say i am straight but turning gay b/c i lack a gf lol haha might work what do u mean in ur posts get his hand bitten off-vuia death of chocolate Originally posted by bluetuesday hmmm. so it seems not so much that your parents won't let you out in the evenings, but that they won't want you going out if you're seeing a girl? at 23 you're a fully grown man and you shouldn't have to lie about what you do with your own life. seems a little....unusually overprotective. is there are reason for this? as for how much you should spend, there are no rules. take her somewhere informal where she'll be comfortable and where there are lots of other people your age around. a place like that probably won't cost much. and any guy who offered me death by chocolate is liable to get his hand bitten off so that sounds like a plan! but don't jump too far ahead. at least speak to her first, it may be just that she wants a friend joel, don't set yourself up for disappointment. hope for the best and expect the worst and you'll be ok.
bluetuesday Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 i mean just that if a guy offered me death by chocolate it'd rank as such a good offer i'd bite off the hand that offered it to get to the chocolate. is this biting someone's hand off a british phrase then? it'd be almost as great if he offered to dip himself in a vat of nutella (you get that, right?) and have me lick him clean. in other words joel, it's a good idea. i used to try the 'gay' thing all the time in school. except it was the 'stupid' thing when i did it. i'd start out the year pretending to be stupid so when i did something to my usual standard they'd think i was the dogs. maybe that's a brit phrase too? the dogs = the dogs b*llocks = something pretty special. erm, it never worked though, my plan. teachers talk. and i ended up having to retake my exams. try being honest with your parents. most of them genuinely have our best interests at heart and will flip with joy at the idea of their kid wanting a girlfriend instead of going out smoking crack.
