This is more of a get it off my chest than anything else

My boyfriend of just over a year split up with me this week, we had been having problems so it didn't come as a surprise- he has a lot of self confidence/anxiety issues and while I tried to be supportive it got really hard at times. The other thing that we "argued" about was the fact we never did many couply things, when we first started going out he was unemployed so I understood we couldn't really do much and that was fine but even when he found a job things didn't really change he was never in the mood. So anyway I thought I would take the initiative and planned a weekend away over Easter there is a gig on which a lot of our friends were going to so it was a nice present for him. (his birthday in 2 weeks)Now I'm unsure whether to go to the gig as the friends are his friends and it was meant to be his present (I love the band though) He knew about all of this but has sacrificed it and I feel so hurt even though I know it wasn't easy for him as he said there is never a right time.

What do you mean couply things? How was he not in the mood? Are you certain he isn't going to the gig? Maybe he will change his mind the day before, so I think it's best that you plan not to go.
