Me and my ex broke up 2 months ago. I broke up with her and tried to get her back a week after and she said no. So after that we went NC for over a month and she contacted me wanting to reconcile. So after a week of talking I asked her out again (terrible mistake) she said she would but she wasn't ready right now. Now things are awkward. We both want ti be with each other but things are just awkward when we are around each other. We are going on a big trip in a couple of weeks with something me and her both are involved in and she wants to spend some time together there. Any tips on how to get rid of the awkwardness?

Why not just forget that stuff and be yourself? What attracted you to each other in the first place? Put all that emotional baggage in the closet and have some fun! People who are relaxed and having fun feed off of each other.

Before we started dating we were always joking around and had soo much fun with each other..so yea I guess you're right. I'll just act like it never happened and have fun..then see where it goes from there.

Be cognizant of what happened, but understand that there is a time and a place for that stuff to come out. People can get exhausted if they are being constantly reminded of the emotional side of things.

There is a post on another forum where a dumper described their experience in getting back together with an ex. What drew her back in was seeing how happy her ex was and it reminded her of all the good times. The dumper had written her ex off long ago and never even dreamed she would see him the same way but she did and they made a date like old times.

Everything went perfect until they sat down to dinner. The dumpee suddenly started to get emotional, crying, and really pouring his heart out about how hurt he was when she left him in the past, but now he is so happy she is back. It turned her off immediately because she wasn't ready to talk about that stuff and just wanted a good time.

Long story short, they didn't get back together because she felt he was not ready. He got emotional too quickly and it made her feel bad NOT good.

So..you're saying that mine and that persons situation is very similar? And that while I'm with her don't get emotional and talk about the past..just have a good time and be patient?

Kind of like starting over again. Being the person she was attracted to when we first met.

Exactly. Act like its a new start. Dont try to force anything. Otherwise it will become AWKWARD!

Just chill, relax, subtly charm her and have fun. The rest will fall into place.

Not to mention where we are going will be the perfect place to have fun. We are going to Universal Studios to march in a Mardis Gras parade and ride all the rollercoasters for 4 days. We both are in marching band!
