I am really looking forward to it, but I'm a little nervous/scared of seeing him. Our separation was my decision and he hates me for it. Any words of wisdom from those of you who have been through this is greatly appreciated. I just don't know what to expect. thanks...
Scott S Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 It will seem a bit tense, to say the least. Seeing the metal detectors at the entry to Family Court does little to assuage that, but... I assume you will be accompanied by your attorney. I recommend that you remain with him/her very nearby while your in there, try to keep him/her between you. If your soon-to-be ex wants to talk, be polite, cordial & BRIEF. Be careful not to get sucked into an emotional discussion. Again, keep your attorney nearby. It will be over before you know it, then move on. Welcome to the rest of your life!
happily_divorseing Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 hi..i know how u feel ... my divose will be done with on tuesday... ...very happy also.....but with mine...he will not be there ..due to inprisonment... but he will be on the phone.... i never wanna see that man again... but i do agree with what that last person said.. keep ur lawyer near you...u dont want any mind games or minipulation going on...very scared that he will hear every word i say....but i gotta do it ...and get it over with...hope it goes good for u and be happy
