How to close in public?

I have no trouble meeting females in public. random chit chat. in a line up, school, out some where etc. But i never know how to close the deal given the fact we might only talk for 2-5 minutes before we have to part ways.

even if i just want friendship, is there a better way to ask for a number ? or close the deal in such a short time?

In the past i have just asked for her number and if hesitates i just brush it off. Is this the best way? be direct?

If she's interested she would just give it right?

"Oh, you like X? There's this cool place Y I want to try out, we should totally go sometime... here's key in your number, I'll shoot you a text"

Boom... it's easy... if your talking you know something about her, just use that or try to seed something so it's an excuse to get her number... whether you end up going to that place is irrelivant, you have her number, she's interested and you're in.

If you've got nothing seeded and have to go, just say:

"I've gotta run I'm so late, but was awesome talking to you, you seem adorable... here... key in your number... I'll shoot you a text later we can do X"

Might work differently among gay men, but I've always found directness to be my best bet.

"Let's have dinner on Thursday at 7PM at <insert place>." If they say yes, then don't show up, at least you're already out and able to go to a bar or something to dig up a few more potentials.
