Turned my account back on after a 3 month break. In her second message to me (asked her if she did anything last wknd) she said no because one of her friends died yesterday and that's the second friend she's lost in a week. I'm wondering what the hell she's doing active when she has bigger problems. Tough girl or red flag?

Well, there are different degrees of friends. A bit TMI, but wouldn't be a next unless she starts in with personal abuse TMI or more TMI in the next few contacts. Good luck.

Well just so happens I had two friends die recently also, both more "acquaintances" than friends, but who says "I had two -acquaintances- die last week?" Everyone says "friends." As sad as it was that they died, their deaths wouldn't really stop me from having a normal dating life. Who knows with your girl, time will tell. Good luck.

Neither tough nor red flag, in my opinion. She might simply be in a phase where she is upset and is reaching out to anyone to express that, both stranger and friend alike.

Having a dying relative (real or imagined) is a handy exit to get out of a meeting. You get sympathy, too!
