Thunderchild Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 .....but, I do miss her dogs. My ex has two lovely Tibetan Terriers (and an elderly grumpy shih-tzu). We were together for five years, and she bought the Tibetans as ten week old pups after our first year. So, they've grown up knowing me, having me around, being looked after by me, walked, fed and taken to the vet by me. They've stayed at my house whilst she was away on business. I've pulled stones and thorns from the pads in their feet, ticks from their flesh, bathed them, applied ointment to their skin, wiped their backsides; when it's got a bit messy back there, cleaned up after them, held them when they were sick or in pain. I've untangled them from barbed wire, helped birth the bitch's pups, stopped them fighting/squabbling, been bitten several times (mainly by the shih-tzu), wiped their eyes of gunk, cleaned out their ears, brushed them. I've comforted them when the fireworks were exploding, played numerous games and toys with them and kept them safe and away from harm. What a pity that after 4 years she hasn't managed to house train them yet!! God, I miss those dogs. Anyone else got a story like this??

Every time I was there she would sit on my lap every time I sat down. The fact that that dog liked me in a way made my ex think higher of me as weird as that sounds.

Yep - I was the same with the shih-tzu. He was a grumpy old git who didn't really take to anyone. However, he did take to me, and my ex did comment on that. Funny old world innit?
na49 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I loved my ex's parents. I shook the nervousness of meeting them off pretty quickly and was cracking jokes and talking sports with her dad. They reminded me so much of my parents.
