adb22 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I broke no contact with my ex last week and now I feel like an utter idiot! Background: We met on an online dating site, went on a handful of dates over the course of 3 months (long distance), eventually became a couple, which lasted for a month and a few weeks, then we broke up. He was my first boyfriend or shall I say "fling mate," as I consider this a fling and I was the first girlfriend he had in 4 years. Well, it ended oddly but it was relatively mutual. Day after the breakup, he sent me a text trying to apologize for how he handled the situation. The next day, I tried to nicely tell him that he needed to fix his baggage and emotional issues and wished him well. A week after that I texted him to apologize for probably coming off as "self-righteous" and asked if we could start over as friends. He said, He "thinks so, but he'll need to exhibit self control because he's still attracted to me" What does that even mean. We never had sex (I'm a virgin) and he definitely doesn't want to get back with me, nor me with him (at least romantically...) Why even say that? Then...I did said something stupid...
Author adb22 Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 Can anyone relate or at least help me out with what the heck this means?
iouaname Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 What is confusing, exactly? He still has feelings for you and thinks it would be difficult for him to remain friends while he has feelings for you.
Author adb22 Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 I guess I'm confused as to difference between finding someone "attractive" or being "attracted to"...? I don't know...He definitely doesn't have feelings for me, as he initiated the break up in a way, though it was a mutual feeling. I guess I'm just kind of venting, because I feel like this is kind of like a mind game! Then, my stupid butt tried to initiate nsa sex...lol I feel crazy...I know it was a terrible idea
