SamanthaX Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 I have a dilemma. My boyfriend bought me a birthday present which is completely nice and I didn't expect one. However, the gift was a pair of earrings that are not me at all. They are very hippiesque and I tend to be more tasteful and simple. I feel horrible for even posting this. I just feel like he should know me a bit more than that after 2+ years of dating. I don't feel like he put any thought into it whatsoever (the gift was a week late too). I know I am a total bitch but how well should a man know you after 2 years? Are they just bad at these things or am I over reacting?
abbyroadme Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 No offense, but you are over reacting. Look at it this way, it's the thought that counts. As well as it's a material thing. He loves you and you love him....that's all that matters.
swtbonita Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 For my last birthday my bf didn't get me anything ... and i'm fine with that because i don't think gifts are a big deal.. Personality when someone gives you a gift.. its the thought that counts.. Even if you don't like it.. wear then proudly.. i love wearing stuff my bf gave me because it makes me feel closer to him.. But also i tell my bf if i don't like something so that he knows my tastes.. and he alway agrees with me.. if i were you i would tell my bf that i love the gift but they are not my style.. and that i like wearing the earrings because they remind me of him..
