DrStrangelove Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 I'm indian, met this girl from Seattle who has been the type of girl I am looking for. Anyways, I'm in California. We've have been having phone convos every night - anywhere from 30min to hour an a half. We both have attraction towards each other. Anyways, I'm 25, she's 22. I always wanted to move further north, as I love cold weather. Anyways, I assume she wants to get married eventually, as she was on an Indian matrimonial site. I'm taking things SLOW as possible, as I do not want to ruin anything. I don't text her, and save the coversating for a phone call. I mean it's pretty clear we both want long-term. LOL I looked up flight tickets to wa, fairly cheap for round trip. I mean if I saw her a couple of times and we hit it off - one of us would have to move? Luckily, I'm done with school, and do not have a career here, could pursue one there. She is still finishing her b.a. and works at a medical clinic. Would it be nuts to just pack up and move with her and her family? This may seem very odd to those of you who are not cultured. But, Indian people are accustomed to arranged marriages, so this would not be far fetched. She is very much westernized, but also traditional. Her parents put her on that site - which is common ha. Anyways.. Input? I will be active throughout.. appreciate it a lot - LoveShack.
Cutiepie1976 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Date long distance for a year while she finishes up her BA, then the two of you can decide where you want to live.

Thanks for the response. What if she was more so interested in me moving out there in say 3 months? And, I had the same feelings. Is that too soon? I mean you can't really put a timeline on it, but just trying to find out others' experiences.
Cutiepie1976 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 You're welcome. And when she graduates and you have greater flexibility about location, you uproot yourself again? That makes no sense. Don't put the cart before the horse. You haven't even met her yet. If your relationship is meant to last, it will survive an hour's flight. Most dating fizzles out before you ever get to the six-month mark. Go on an actual date first before you contemplate movers and start with all this planning. Your families haven't even met. Out of curiosity, have you ever had a girlfriend?

Never dated an Indian girl, so this is a new learning experience.
