Feels like I've been with my new boyfriend forever... any meaning behind that?

I've been dating a guy for just 2 months now. We used to be decently close friends, but lost contact for a couple of years. We ran into each other recently and started talking and now here we are.

We both agree that it feels like we've been dating for a long time, over a year. There's such a strong level of comfort, like nothing I've ever had with anyone else before. Everything is so EASY with us, I've always had tons of problems and things I want to change about men in the past, but with him, I feel like I actually accept him totally for who he is and he does the same for me. I really don't know how to explain it... I just get a feeling about him.

 

I'm just curious on everyone's thoughts on this... I'm aware that there's some people who strongly believe in fate and soul mates and all that, and others who dismiss the idea entirely and believe it all has to do with chemistry, however I myself have no idea where I stand, somewhere in-between the two I suppose.

 

Anyways, all opinions welcome, I'd love to hear 'em!

I've known and dated (both friends and lovers) quite a few people like this.

 

Always a pleasant experience.

 

My father used to tell me as a kid that souls come back in groups and that those people are part of your group. Who knows really.

 

Just enjoy it while it lasts. :)

 

You might get a kick out of watching "What Dreams May Come". One of those special people had me watch that movie when I was like 15, never forgot it.

Ahhhh, this is so lovely :)

Everyone around here is always posting about troubles, and your post was just refreshing and nice.

 

I had this feeling with my ex, and we had been friends before we got together.

I think it's partly because you know so much about eachother already, and you move straight to that intimate level where you start to feel more close and comfortable.

 

Enjoy every minute of this :)

I think it helps that you started as friends. There's a foundation of compatibility, shared interests, and history that really works when you discover mutual chemistry with a friend.

Alright who has the chocolate ice cream? We're gonna watch dumb romance movies all night. It's settled.

 

I'd even go for some mint n' chip.

If you've never had them, don't try them. You will sit down and eat an entire box of them.

LS slumber party. It'll be fun. We can tell cute stories like OPs and watch soppy romance tales. Can't tell anyone I was there though, don't wanna look like I have a soft side or anything.

We don't have girlscouts here, so that would be why I haven't tried thin mints.

Haha, yeah, we do have awesome stuff here.

We have Hersheys bars, but not the kisses. You have to get these things from special import shops.

 

We do have Baskins (love potion is my fave!), coldstone is called Coldrock over here.

 

No need to mail, just bring them with you ;)

They probably still haven't made it to the west yet, it's like we're our own third world country sometimes.

Absolutely. I think some of the best relationships are based on friendship. At least they're the most comfortable. I've always wanted to find that ideal lover/partner in crime mix. It's kind of one of those "there's something really special about you, I can't put my finger on it, but I know It's there" type ordeal. It does make it easier to transition for sure, as if it was already there, but It's this new wonderful thing you now get to experience together. Ah love, so wonderful when It's there, so painful when It's gone. :laugh:

 

Always loved that quote, or like the one that's like "love is 2 souls inhabiting 1 body". It's so cheesy but that's what it can feel like sometimes.
