mtnbiker3000 Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 So, I move out on Saturday and the ex will be out of town. I am leaving a letter behind with some information on final finances and other shared responsibilities. I was going to include this paragraph at the end as well. What do you think?? Thank you so much for the many, many wonderful experiences (and several life lessons, too). I now realize I have things I need to work on for a better future for myself. Please understand that I am not mad at you or resentful about what has happened. I have no bad feelings towards you and absolutely don't regret at all, having spent three great years with you. I have forgiveness for both of us for causing any pain, frustration or sadness to each other. I wish you good luck and I really hope you find continued success and happiness wherever you may find yourself =)

If not it may come across as a little facetious... but oh well, it's still not begging or pleading for anything. It is a warm farewell. If you do leave this letter- don't expect a response. Let it be! And don't try to follow up. NO contact.

I will be doing something similar following-up on the end of a 2.5 year relationship. I also have to remember to expect no response, and to just move on from here. 1
Author mtnbiker3000 Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 Yes, we left on OK terms... I mean it was emotional but not hostile. We have never been hostile towards each other... I guess I can be thankful for that! And, I am not expecting any response, and I plan to go total NC for at least 3 months. The unfortunate thing is we will still have to communicate at least once more in June/July to split the return of the deposit on the rental house we shared and some other final bills that won't be processed for another few weeks... I would just say screw it, but it will be like $750
