Not competition?

House paid for , own business , lol

You're right its not even a competition. Some men like older men some like younger.

Simple as that.

No need to be a hater.

If younger women dont want you, which most dont, then you are no competition for me despite all those things you have.

If older men were such competition for us young guys, most young women would be with you guys. But guess what? They arent.

Im not being a hater. Im stating reality. You are not competition because the majority of young women prefer men around their own age, despite your money and business.

Thats why i have a girlfriend and you dont.

Clearly you have reading comprehension problems. You having a girlfriend doesnt change anything I said. Your one girlfriend doesnt change the fact that you cannot compete with me when it comes to most women.

Also, you having your girlfriend doesnt change the fact that she may end up with a guy her age one day.

Your retort is pathetic and childish. Clearly what I said has you butthurt, which is why you comeback with the schoolyard "I have a girlfriend and you dont...na na na"

i have a girlfriend and you dont.

In what world are you living where you, one guy with a girlfriend, changes how the world works for everyone else?

Look around you, and look up some stats regarding age gap relationships. Most women date guys around their age...and most couples you see are similar in age. You arent directly competing with younger guys just because you manage to snag one younger chick.

Younger guys have never been worried about older dudes because most women dont want you. Get over yourself. And why dont I have a girlfriend? Because I dont settle, and Im not rushing it. Finding a girlfriend is easy if you wanna rush and date anyone.

I was with my exwife from age 23 to 34. No fishing from

The bottom of the barrels. My girl is top quality knows

What she wants in life

Age is a number wouldn't matter if she was 27 37 or 47

Nether one us smoke or drink or do the bar scene.

Were a match regardless of age.

In my experience, the only time men think age doesn't matter is when his partner is younger than him. What he is really saying is that he doesn't believe his age should matter to her but it's perfectly okay for her age to matter to him...when she is older that is.

All I can say is that there seem to be plenty to go around from where I'm sitting. My current GF is 23, before that, 23, before that, 25. I've not been without a GF for more than a few weeks without choosing to have it that way.

It wasn't this way when I was in my 20s.

But you have GF coming out your ears I guess so it's all good.

I've dated both, but age does matter IMO.

No. 8 to 10 years is not common... but lots of guys would like to convince everyone it is.

You can't get a woman your own age because you were messing around in your 20's, and now you have to fish from the bottom of the maturity barrel looking for someone who can't see past your BS.

As long as you can tell your friends and folks here you are with someone a lot younger, you feel like a 'success'... congrats!

No anger there I see. I prefer to think of it as the top of the hotness barrel but you can keep making mature reasoned comments like the above to convince me how wrong I am.

If the OP likes older guys she should think about why, but that's true of any preference isn't it?

So I have an interesting problem. I find myself mostly attracted to older guys; sometimes I know before it develops, sometimes I find out how old they are after. It is kind of annoying.

I seek to date guys my own age or a bit on either side (I am 26); currently seeing a 28 year old, but it seems he will eventually bore me to death and I will leave. Now, I have had crushes on guys my age, younger, slightly older - but when I try to interest these guys or even go as far as suggesting they ask me out, it fizzles. Clearly they aren' t interested in me, which is confusing because they will flirt with me like crazy and even ask if I am single.

Now, I will say that when I was in college, obviously everyone I knew was within good dating age, and I did get quite a bit of interest. I had some issues i needed to work on, however, and did not want to subject a bf to them (some childhood leftover crap that i wanted to resolve and grow from before adding an additional challenging relationship to my life), as well as having 3 jobs to put myself through a demanding science program. I just didn't have the time or desire to date, so I didn't. Now, however, I am established in career and have much more free time now that I am out of school. I am financially secure since I did not have to take out student loans, and have been ready for a long-term, serious, forever-type relationship since I was about 24; now, though, the guys my age are either coupled up, not ready to date (me anyway), want to marry me and have kids (I do NOT want kids, so that has broken many potential relationships up), or totally boring couch potatoes. I want someone I can connect with. I know, whine whine whine. Sorry.

So for the guys I have a chance with or who show actual interest, I tend to not be attracted to the ones my age. Except for a couple of exceptions when the timing was wrong (I was in relationship, they were interested, I found them attractive but of course, bad timing), I am generally attracted to guys 13-16 years older than me, which is quite a bad age for dudes to be at. But they are the ones who seem to have an interesting life and be willing to do fun things and have interesting conversations. As an aquarius, that is important.

So, what do I do? I'd much rather find someone who can grow with me, together. I don't actually want someone who has already gone through most of their adulthood. It seems better to find someone closer to your age, but I don' t know how to do this anymore. I also don't know if dating older is going to cause problems because I am looking for a partner and not to just date around for awhile (blech). I prefer to build relationships with quality people over time (including friends here, too) rather than keep meeting new people all the time and recycling through them relationship-wise.

I guess I am not sure what my actual question is, but there are certain wise posters here who consistently give great advice, and i admit I am confused. Thoughts on this, I guess?

Thanks!

A lot of the time big age gaps tend to work, either it be older man to the younger lady or older woman to the younger fellow it just seems to work for some stranger reasons if the gap isn't so wide. What your feeling is ok and quite natural really.

Have at it bro. I stand by what I said. No dudes my age ever worry about nor really see older dudes bagging the women we want. Its always guys our age whom we are in direct competition with.

And what does having a gf have to do with my argument? Im not a hermit who doesnt date or get women. I have my fun and all, but making a chick my gf is not something I take lightly. The problem is that I know what I want, am a tad picky, and a lot of chicks out there arent worth me committing just yet.

Yeah cool, I just think it's awesome that we both have no issues getting into the relationships we want. Everyone wins.
