Is that part of my dream significant?

So I dream a lot about my ex, since we broke up 2 months ago. I always dream that he comes back and I'm happy again. This time when he did, he gave me a key that was important and told me to hold onto it. That's basically all I remember other than wearing it around my neck.

What could it mean? Are keys symbolic in dreams? Anyone ever have a similar dream?

I personally think you are looking into the dreams too much. Dreams at the end of the day are just dreams. They are a way for our brain to cope and sort out what we are thinking about during the day. There is no real significance in our dreams since most of the time we can't control it, unless you know how to lucid dream ;)

Yes, a key is significant in that the door to your liberty actually has no lock, but you believe it has.

look for the keyhole. There isn't one.

In other words, the way to free yourself from constant thoughts of your ex, is in your hands.

What he is saying, is:

"You can go.

You can leave.

You can move on.

This is they key.

But the only one locking you into your prison of being caught up with me - is you.

You hold the key, but the door, is not locked.

Go.

Fly.

Move on.

Release yourself."

Sounds like a plan.....
