IAmRobot Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 So my almost gf. We'll call her J. J absolutely loves to text. Usually gets bored at work and in a few instances has told me kind of funnily that I should text her more often Now whenever we've texted recently she abruptly interrupts the convo. i.e - one day I'm at a party, she knew: J: My babyyyyyy Me: Hey babe, what up J: I'm out with my girls we're celebrating the weekend. Me: It's weekend already I'm just at my party. BLANK Today we exchange txts back and forth for like an hr. at the end she sends: J: BLA BLA Do you wanna see your baby today for a bit? Me: I wanna see my baby all day every day, but I really can't today. Tomorrow? BLANKKK... Now I don't really mind it since after she goes blank she has to initiate contact. But I kind of wonder if there is a tell in this... if this is a subconscious mechanism, or if she consciously does this to play some kind of game. Ideas?
AverageCat Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 To me it's a sign she's just afraid of getting too attached / appearing too clingy and therefore tries to control what's happening. It's what I used to do when I was attracted to a girl but didn't wanna appear super into her. I.e - If she ends the convo, then it's up to you to contact her, but if she ends it, then she can contact you when she wants and not appear desperate!
MrCastle Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 How far have you gone with this "almost gf" Sex? Kissing? Hugs? Some people are just bad texters, plain and simple. Now, sometimes people send texts that require no answer, I mean, you can't text back and forth forever, the conversation has to come to an end at some point. But some people lack the common consideration needed to say "Oh, this person sent me a text. I should probably respond back to them." 1

Star Gazer Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 You're in a CASUAL relationship with her. You started it that way, she's keeling if that way.

True, but why text to check on me everyday, She called me after 5-6 hrs after that txt exchange asking how my day was bla bla bla. Why all this if she wanted to keep it casual?
